(ThyBlackMan.com) On April 12, 2017, Nintendo hosted Nintendo Direct event and unveiled some new Nintendo Switch updates. The company’s Deputy General Manager of Entertainment Planning & Development division, Yoshiaki Koizumi shared the news about the upcoming games and the future of Nintendo’s latest gaming console, Switch. Here’s what Nintendo announced during the event.

Standalone Nintendo Switch Dock Release

The standalone Dock release is scheduled for May 19. According to Nintendo, players can hook up the extra dock to a television set. Players can easily switch between the two without needing to unplug the main setup.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

The game is coming on Switch on April 28. Nintendo shared some Mario Kart 8 Deluxe gameplay details suggesting that it will bring all new battle modes, new characters, karts and tracks.

With an online mode, the game enables players to join a race against another Switch player. There’s also a battle mode where the players can choose different battles. Switch users can also play with their friends for a more personalized gameplay.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe enables players to play worldwide, in the region and even with the friends. Creating or entering the tournament is also possible. To celebrate the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe launch, Nintendo will be hosting 2 tournaments.

Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers

On May 26, the game will hit Switch. Nintendo confirmed that the game will feature an HD graphics mode and those who love playing the original pixelated graphics would not be disappointed as the game will be having a settings option for the same on the Switch. The game will also include two new fighters, Violent Ken and Evil Ryu.

Many More Nintendo Switch Games Coming This Year

Nintendo is gearing up to bring many games throughout the year. Minecraft is coming on May 11 and other than that, there are many new games coming on the platform this year. Just close to this release, Samurai Showdown is also making its way to the Switch.

Sonic Forces is expected to arrive during the holiday season and in summer, Sonic Mania, Battle Chasers Nightwar and Sine Mora EX are also coming to the platform.

Switch owners can expect Project Mekkura, Disgaea 5 Complete and Fate/Extella this year. Currently, the demo for Puyo Puyo Tetris is already available on the company’s eShop and soon it will arrive as a full game.

Players will be able to buy Monopoly sometime during fall 2017 and Payday 2 release is also slated for this year. But before that, you’d not want to miss the summer release of Namco Museum. Details about some of the Switch games are already out, but the information about the game such as Project Mekkura is still under wrap.

During the recent Nintendo Direct event where the company highlighted many upcoming Nintendo Switch games, Nintendo also confirmed many titles for its 3DS console. As Nintendo has a strong lineup of games for the year, the details on the upcoming titles will soon come out as the company has several events lined up before the year ends.

Meanwhile, Nintendo has also announced via HackerOne that whoever finds vulnerabilities in Switch will be given a reward ranging from US$100 to 20,000. The announcement confirms that the company is looking for piracy issues in its console. This is undoubtedly a bold move by Nintendo that not only shows that the developers are very confident about the console’s security and customer safety, but it also opens the door for building a more secure environment for Switch owners.

According to Nintendo, it will reward the person who will first report the issue to the company and the reporter will be required to provide functional codes to prove the claims.

This is not the first time when Nintendo is taking such steps. The company did the same for its 3DS console also. So ultimately, Nintendo Switch is expected to deliver better gaming experience to the customers with the company’s commitment to quality and strong lineup of games.
