(ThyBlackMan.com) Blizzard posted a video on Twitter and fans believed Diablo 3 on Switch is actually coming. The company later ruined this excitement by saying their Twitter post was for fun. In the official response, Diablo game series developer Blizzard Entertainment said they do not have any current plans to announce Diablo game for the Switch.

Blizzard has left no room for speculations, but as always, fans are unstoppable and there’s actually a reason to be excited about Diablo 3 on Switch. The video posted by Blizzard shows a hand switching a Diablo-themed light on and off again. The switchboard and repeated switching make it look like the company is pointing to a potential Diablo 3 release on the Switch console.

Although the company isn’t ready to share anything, sources suggest Diablo 3 port for Nintendo Switch is coming and Nintendo will reveal this after a few months. According to insiders, it was surprising for them to see Blizzard sharing the image even when we are months away from the game’s official reveal. Those who are familiar with the game’s development didn’t share anything specific about the expansion packs. It is unclear if the Reaper of Souls and Rise of the Necromancer expansions will be available in the Switch port of Diablo 3.

It is a well-known fact that Blizzard doesn’t mind spreading the word out long before a game’s release, but Nintendo doesn’t follow the same pattern as the company announces games close to the launch date. If the details turn out to be true, we can expect Diablo 3 on Switch in 2019. It remains to be seen what will happen.

Diablo 3 was first released in 2012 on PC and later it was made available on Sony PlayStation 3, PS4, Microsoft Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Developers also released expansion packs for the game and in the last five years, the game has seen tremendous growth in terms of sales and content delivery.

Diablo 3‘s availability on many other consoles and its remarkable success is enough to convince Blizzard to work on the game for the Switch. Many developers have released games on Switch and the lineup of games for 2018 looks promising for console owners. Nintendo’s new console is also doing well in terms of sales and bringing a Diablo game on the console won’t disappoint Blizzard because the series will easily build a new audience on the new platform. The company also confirmed it is not bringing Hearthstone on Switch. Blizzard recently announced they have no plans to release Hearthstone on the Switch.

In the past, Blizzard mentioned the company would consider porting games to the Nintendo Switch, but sadly, nothing official ever came out. The studio’s highly successful Overwatch game is still unavailable on the Switch and the company has not shared anything specific about the game’s release on Nintendo’s console. What makes Diablo 3 special for Switch owners is the gameplay and features. The world of Sanctuary in a highly capable 3D game engine looks appealing. This is the first game to be available in the new physics-enabled game engine.

Diablo 3 features five different character classes and this time, players can choose the gender of their character. This feature was not available in the previous games of the series. The classes include Demon Hunter, Wizard, Monk, Barbarian, and The Witch Doctor. Blizzard also made several changes in the gameplay mechanics in Diablo 3. Blizzard changed the way skills work in the new game and it is completely different from the studio’s approach to skills in Diablo 2.

Skill points and skill trees no longer exist and they are replaced with a new system that controls Runes, Skills, and Passives. When a player levels up in the game, a combination of new Skills, Passives, and Runes will be unlocked and these are specific to each character class. When you kill an enemy in Diablo 3, you can collect Life Orbs dropped by the enemy. Picking up these Orbs helps in restoring your health in a little amount.

If Diablo 3 releases on Switch, it would be a must have game for Switch owners. Until we get clear comments from Blizzard or Nintendo it’s hard to believe there will be no Diablo 3 on Switch.
