(ThyBlackMan.com) If you ask what the USP of Huawei Watch 2 is or what makes it different than other smartwatches, there seems no strong reason why anyone would buy it. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with the watch, but Watch 2 is really not what everyone was expecting from the Chinese company. The expectations were high, as all we wanted to see was the original Huawei smartwatch with a classy look, better battery life, better build quality, accuracy in data tracking and efficient performance. But Huawei Watch 2 disappoints badly.

Look at its display and you will be disheartened by the awful downgrade. The original Huawei smartwatch sports a 1.4-inch display, but the latest one, Watch 2 is thicker than the original and has a small 1.2-inch display.

Don’t expect better GPS positioning because it is something almost everyone who owns the watch is complaining about. And when the GPS positioning is not accurate, it is obviously not a good choice if you are tracking activities for which a majority of people buy smart wearables like this.

The Huawei Watch 2 gives you three colour options to choose from. Without compromising the watch’s look, Huawei has made a great arrangement for the Nano sim slot as well. With massive features, the smartwatch comes with 4G LTE connectivity enabled. So, you won’t have to carry a phone all the time and the Watch 2 can run independently without needing you to connect the phone. Calling from the watch may not appear to be a convenient affair, but Huawei enables the users to do so.

The smartwatch supports Android Wear 2.0, which is undoubtedly a great deal for the interested buyers. The improvements, and the most important feature, standalone apps the Wear 2.0 brings are matchless.

Additionally, you get Android Pay, new watch faces and a fresh UI with several new features. Although it’s not something unique to the new Watch 2, but the arrival of the new Android system version is pretty amazing. On the Watch 2, Google Assistant works flawlessly and there are no complaints with the voice commands.

If you are looking for a classy smartwatch, the new Huawei Watch 2 is not a perfect fit for you, but if you are the one who is even a little sporty, you will surely love it. The device doesn’t feature a sleep tracker, but you can put inactivity alarms to stay active. There’s so much for sports tracking and the watch is in fact capable of tracking your activities such as cycling and running. The heart rate sensor doesn’t work well when you’re taking rest, but it can count fat burn activities so well.

As long as the battery life is concerned, the company claims that the Watch 2 will last for two days. However the claim doesn’t appear to be very accurate in some cases, but you can’t deny with the fact that the watch lasts longer than many other Android Wear 2.0 watches. The watch sports a 420mAh battery and can last for three days on limited functionalities and features. Huawei has also added one battery saving mode which can help you save more battery power when the battery is about to die. You can go out in the rain and the watch is also capable of surviving for 30 minutes under 1.5-meter water. Thanks to IP68 rating.

Overall, the Huawei Watch 2 is an “OK” kind of deal because there’s no USP, nothing groundbreaking, but no basic feature is left as well. You will find almost everything in the watch, but there are some other options which are quite better than the Watch 2 by Huawei.

At a glance, the best things about the smartwatch are that it is packed with different tracking sensors, gives a better battery life and runs on Android Wear 2.0. What you are going to miss in the watch is a classy design, data accuracy and lag-free performance in some cases.
