(ThyBlackMan.com) EA has made it very clear that the next Battlefield game, Battlefield 2018 or Battlefield 5, whatever you call it, will be unveiled at E3 2018. One of the year’s biggest game shows is just around the corner, and EA is ready to showcase some of its upcoming games. In the company’s official note EA confirmed that Bioware’s Anthem and some EA Sports games (most likely FIFA 19 and Madden NFL 19) will accompany Battlefield 2018 on E3 stage.

Developer DICE will end monthly updates for its Battlefield 1 from June 2018. The game was released in 2016. It makes sense because developers will be focusing on the next Battlefield game which is reportedly set in World War 2. EA has not confirmed the official name of the Battlefield 2018 game but reports suggest that it will be called Battlefield V.

So now when EA is all set to unwrap the big surprise, here’s what we know so far about Battlefield 2018 which is likely to be titled Battlefield V.

Battle Royale Mode

A report suggests that DICE will add a battle royale mode to this year’s Battlefield V game and this new game mode is currently under testing. The same report says that nothing is set in stone as the game mode is still in development and may arrive sometime later as a free update after the final release. There are chances that the company will completely kill off this feature if things go wrong.

Battlefield 2018 Is Reportedly Set in WWII

People who are close to the next Battlefield game’s development say that the game will showcase World War 2 events. It is surprising to see EA DICE is considering WWII setting for its upcoming game when the Battlefield 1 was a huge success and it was set in the period of the World War I. According to several reports, it’s nothing new because it was a part of the plan. EA wanted to test a WWI game first before making a game set in the WWII.

If it happens, EA will be late to the party as Activision’s Call of Duty: WWII has already taken us back to that war era. At the same time, it is also an opportunity for EA DICE to learn from the mistakes of its rivals. In terms of game development technologies, what the developers can achieve in 2018 is obviously better than what Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software together did with the Call of Duty: WWII two years ago. But now it all depends on how EA treats the Battlefield V.

You Can Play Battlefield 2018 AT E3

Not only EA DICE will announce the next Battlefield game at E3 2018, a playable demo of the game will also be available there. Interested fans will need to pre-register for the event. The EA Play will be hosted at the Hollywood Palladium. During the event, players will also be able to get their hands on Bioware’s Anthem.

No Pay-To-Win Scheme

EA understand that it’s risky to rely on controversial loot boxes, and the company will not introduce any pay-to-win features in the Battlefield 2018. According to reports, microtransactions and loot boxes in the next Battlefield game will be cosmetic items with no unfair impact on the gameplay. The Star Wars: Battlefront II lootbox disaster has brought several positive changes in the game industry.

Unless the game is subject to unexpected delays, the Battlefield 2018 will be released this fall. It is possible that EA will share some details about the game before June as the game developer has confirmed that the next Battlefield game will be there to play. May appears to be the right time to create hype on social media.

Since EA DICE has shared a little about Battlefield 2018 release, we have only mentioned the information which is worth paying attention to. Each stage of game development is unpredictable, and there are chances that you will come across many rumors. Make sure taking rumors and leaked information with a grain of salt.
