(ThyBlackMan.com) With little information on Resident Evil 2 Remake release date and gameplay, it is very difficult for fans to know who to follow for updates. The designer of the original Resident Evil 2 game, Hideki Kamiya clearly told fans that he is not involved in the development of the new game. Kamiya on Twitter clarified that a new team of developers is working on the title. Without revealing the studio’s name, he said that he trusts the team and the new director’s vision.

Resident Evil 2 Remake release is closer than you think. A new report suggests that the RE 2 remake may come in 2018. The original game was released in 1998 and it established itself strongly in the survival horror genre. It was one of the most successful PlayStation titles and its success convinced Capcom to keep the series alive with a sequel. After several unsuccessful attempts, Capcom confirmed that the remake is being developed from the ground. The Resident Evil 2 remake doesn’t have a release date as Capcom hasn’t shared any information after confirming the game two years ago.

The 20th Anniversary of Resident Evil 2 went without any updates from its developers, but an alleged insider shared some information about the gameplay and the details he revealed sparked discussions among fans. The controversial change is a shift of camera setup. In the original game, the developers used fixed camera style, but with the Resident Evil 4, the series got over-the-shoulder camera style. According to a report, Resident Evil 2 Remake will have over-the-shoulder style.

Additionally, there are some changes suggested by an insider and the good news is that the game is going to be what we expect from the remake of a 20-year old video game. Some big changes are slated for this release and the redesigned game will likely adopt the technical style of Resident Evil 7. According to the report, Ada is getting her weapons back and the section is being expanded. The game will still be focused more on horror elements and it’s a good news for RE diehards. If these reports turn out to be true, costumes are making a return with the new installment with a heavy focus on DLC packs. There are chances that the game will bring only two campaigns and bring back item twinkles like how the Japanese version of Resident Evil 2 features them.

Many of us have been expecting for some surprising changes and these leaked details reveal a lot about what’s going to be different in the game this time. But since the leak is coming from an anonymous source, our readers should take the information with a grain of salt as Capcom is silent and no official confirmation has been made about the same. Some impatient fans started asking the game designer about these changes and he refused to comment on any of the changes. That being said, if the details provided by the source turn out to be true, then there’s a lot to be excited about.

Hideki Kamiya’s has assured fans that they should trust the new team of developers and the new game director’s vision. It is actually a positive sign that the remake of Resident Evil 2 is in good hands but jumping to conclusions without any concrete evidence is still not good.  Even if we had some intro trailer or images, there’s no guarantee how the game will turn out.

This is not the first time when the series is getting a remake version of a game. The original Resident Evil game was released again in 2002 with significant improvements. That 2002 version of Resident Evil retained the same graphical presentation, but the game was significantly improved in terms of the quality of graphics. The remake also features revised puzzles, new gameplay mechanics, and new explorable areas. It mad fans sad because the entire subplot of the original game was cut. Resident Evil 2 Remake doesn’t have an official release window. We expect the game to reach E3 stage this year.
