(ThyBlackMan.com) Samsung ditched the number 6 in the Note series, and after launching the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, the company jumped on to the number 7. The unfortunate fate of the Galaxy Note 7 turned the smartphone market game against Samsung and due to the overheating and blast issues, Samsung had to recall the smartphone from the market. The discontinued smartphone is now expecting a successor which is undoubtedly going to be Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and it seems that the company, after Note 5, is expected to change a lot of things in the upcoming Android phablet smartphone.
Samsung Galaxy Note 5 to Note 7
The Note 7 is an advanced version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5
that brought similar hardware components and also adopted several changes from the Galaxy S7 phone. The company brought back the expandable internal storage capacity and the water resistance capability with IP68 certification.
Samsung started focusing on dual-sided curved display, bundled stylus with an additional software for more support. For the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, the company started supporting high-dynamic-range (HDR) color for the series and iris recognition system was also brought to the phone. The Note 7 came with a USB Type-C port and soon after the official launch, the phone broke pre-order records which apparently delayed its global release.
The build quality was praised by critics and its features were also the major attention pullers. The phone’s high price despite featuring similar specifications was criticised by many, but overall, the phone witnessed great success in the early days.
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Fiasco
The Galaxy Note 7 became one of the most hated phones in the history. The battery defects caused many phones to explode. Samsung finally announced discontinuation of the phone due to repeated reports about the similar issues. It was said that the original devices were equipped with faulty batteries and the design flaw was also said to be responsible for overheating and blasts.
On the first recall, the company offered re-versioned phones using batteries supplied by a different supplier. And soon, the company announced the second recall. Samsung, on January 23, 2017, announced that the phone suffered due to a manufacturing defect in the battery and faults in the welding process.
It was also said that some batteries were not equipped with insulation tape and the oversight from the vendor caused the problems. Since then, the company has introduced several smartphones, but the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 successor’s failure is still in minds and it is very obvious that it may haunt the company at the arrival of the Note 8.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8
Now it is widely known that Samsung is planning to bring Galaxy Note 8 this year, the Note series is expected to see some significant changes. Samsung has already told that the battery issue caused the entire Galaxy Note 7 debacle and the company also listed two providers. So it is obvious that for the new phone, Samsung will likely go for some other manufacturers.
Samsung is reportedly planning to include Snapdragon 836 in the Galaxy Note 8. If the reports are something to go by, this is going to be a groundbreaking move by the company. Earlier also, the company partnered with Qualcomm and this time, the new processor will surely give a boost to the company’s upcoming device over the S8 phone. If it happens, there are chances that the company would want to release the phone sometime around the iPhone 8 release. It is believed that both the phones will arrive this year before the holiday season.

With the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 successor, Samsung disappointed many fans which will probably affect the Note 8 adoption. But one thing is very sure that Samsung is beating Apple and other leading smartphone manufacturers on many fronts, at least in many small and big markets around the world.
