(ThyBlackMan.com) Today in the United States of America, there seems to be a growing consensus against Gun Violence.

Lately we’ve heard plenty of statements against guns and its lackadaisical laws by everyone from President Obama to inner city politicians. Obviously our political choir sings a sad tune, as gun violence continues to bite us like a raging animal.

This ‘Big Bad Wolf’ of handgun tragedy has haunted this country over the lastStop-the-Violence 50 years. All you have to do is recall your favorite musician to consider the effects of guns in America. Has anyone ever heard of John Lennon? Marvin Gaye? Selena? How about Tupac Shakur or Notorious BIG? Yeah, you get my drift.

If you can stand the scent of gunpowder, one can visit sports to find more victims. Violence has also removed boxer Hector ‘Macho’ Camacho and football player Darrent Williams from doing those things we love them for.

The saga continues as great leaders have been taken away from us hereby weakening the fabric of character in this country with every single bullet. Gun Violence has touched President Abraham Lincoln, William Mckinley Jr and our beloved John F. Kennedy whose end was captured on video footage.

Lawmakers are added to this list in the form of Senators and Congress. Our examples are Senator Bobby Kennedy and Congress member Gabrielle Giffords, who was fortunate enough to survive being shot in the head.

Coast to coast from the Atlantic Ocean to the shores of the Pacific violence ugly claws scratched local politicians like Nyc’s James Davis to San Francisco Mayor Moscone who was killed along with famed gay activist Harvey Milk.

This list continues with our nations spiritual leaders like Martin Luther King , the rhetorical Malcolm X and civil rights activist Medgar Evers.

Needless to say, in most high violence urban areas we look for a solution and that’s a good thing, but something more has to be done to satisfy mothers in Chicago where gun violence has ruled for a few years.

How many more bodies does it take for it to get across? Remember Newton? Virginia Tech? Columbine or Aurora ?

Some foolish politicians believe remedies will come gift wrapped and delivered to our doorstep, but it never happens.

Its a sad day in America when conversations outweigh solutions. If you want to do something…call your local politician and let your voice be heard…hopefully before that ‘Big Bad Wolf’ of gun violence catches us all.
