- The beginning: The making of Kanye
Interestingly Kanye West started out as a producer but his passion lay in being a rapper. In the 90s, he was involved in making tunes for local artists in Chicago. His passion led him to become a member and producer of a group of musicians called Go-getters, which produced their album in 1999. Most notable is his contribution as a producer to Jay z’s Blueprint album which to date stands out as one of the most successful hip-hop albums.
With its success, Kanye West gained amazing popularity but still his mind was set to being a rapper. The hip-hop fraternity did not view him as having the gangster personality that most rappers have hence they kept turning down his requests for a recording deal. Boardroom antics kept him from clinching the deal Kanye West was so hoping for but later got one, from Roc-A-Fella records. Late 2002 saw West get his inspiration from a road accident that left

Since the release of his maiden album College dropout in 2004, Kanye West has received overwhelming accolades for his work. All of these albums have seen considerable success.
Kanye West has toured numerous countries performing his music to the fans who keep growing day in day out. His success in music would be attributed to his hard work and perfection trait in which he puts his all and ensures that he gets the best. For his maiden album for instance, it was leaked months before its official launch date and Kanye West went back and remixed and re-mastered most of the songs and came out with a stellar album.

Besides music, Kanye West has also ventured into numerous business ventures among which are restaurants in the Chicago area, clothing line where he has collaborated with the likes of Nike, Bape and Italian shoemakers Giuseppe Zanotti. Kanye and his mother, Donda West who has been his motivation since childhood, founded the Kanye West foundation in 2003.
