(ThyBlackMan.com) Just in case you missed it, and you probably did because it was hardly ever mentioned, John McCain, Republican nominee in 2008, was not born in the US. Also, Mitt Romney, who is running for the 2012 Republican nomination, is the son of George Romney who ran for president in 1968. The elder Romney also was not born in the United States. However, there was no uproar back then over his run, or over McCain’s in 2008.

Obama, meanwhile, the duly elected president, was born in the US and has the documents to prove it, and no less than the Republican governor of Hawaii has clear recollections of the infant Obama when he and Obama’s  parents were college students. Nonetheless, there is a controversy over where Obama was born, though not a word was spoken in objection to the candidacy of the admittedly foreign born McCain!

But it does not stop there. You see those who are disputing Obama’s birth say that he was born in Kenya and that therefore he is not a natural born citizen. Well if he is not a natural born citizen, and he clearly was never naturalized, then the only thing he can be is an illegal alien. Now let me see if I understand this.  A Black man who is an illegal alien has not only lived and worked here for decades, but become the president of the United States. Such an individual could not drive a bus in New York, let alone pilot the greatest nation on earth.

We are asked to believe that somehow, with the entire Republican party, Hillary Clinton and his other primary opponents, not to mention the FBI, going over his past with a fine tooth comb, this Black illegal alien pulled the wool over everyone’s eyes, except that is for Donald Trump and his fictitious private investigators.

Trump, by the way, now also claims that the president did not deserve to get into the Ivy League. Keep in mind that President Obama graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School and was editor of the Harvard Law Review while Trump doesn’t even have an MBA.

This is called cognitive dissonance. When the mind cannot deal with painful truths, it manufactures insane rationalizations to deal with reality. Some in this country cannot handle the fact that a black family  is living the White House. So they say to themselves, and fervently believe, that he does not deserve to be there. They will go on thinking this, no matter what, until the day he leaves office, otherwise they would go insane. Correction, that is, become more insane than they clearly already are. They dwell in a separate reality where the rules of logic are somehow short circuited on this issue. The fact that Obama won the election drove them over the brink, so much did they have psychologically invested in the myth of white supremacy.

By the way, McCain was born in the Panama Canal Zone which is not, and never was, a part of the United States, and George Romney was born in Mexico. His own father was a Mormon with several wives who had been driven out of Texas for practicing bigamy. In closing, note how little of the above is discussed in the non-stop coverage of the “birther issue” in the media. What does that tell you about the quality of what passes as responsible journalism in this country?
