(ThyBlackMan.com) Black Ops 4 is out now and in the Call of duty game series, it is probably the most revolutionary game. Developers Treyarch, Beenox, and Raven Software decided that this time, they will ditch the traditional single-player campaign and focus on the game’s multiplayer aspects. Other features including the zombies experience and PvP matches are there with some major improvements and changes. The newly added battle royale mode called Blackout is also gaining popularity. While there are some hits and misses, one thing Activision didn’t do well is in-game microtransactions.

After the game’s release, Activision released an update and smartly added microtransactions to the game. It looks like the move was strategically planned. The publisher waited for the reviewers to try the game first. Real money can buy you CoD points which you can use in Black Ops 4 to make a purchase. With money used to buy CoD points, players can get easy access to some of the in-game items. You can buy Nebulium Plasma in the Zombies mode and you can also access special content in Black Market. All the items and special features can also be earned by playing the game, but it demands more time.

There’s a Tier 200 weapon set in Black Ops 4. You can buy it using real money. The amount for the same would be around $200 which most people wouldn’t want to pay at all. If you are looking for an alternative, there’s only one way – grinding. If you are ready to play the game for hours remember that the majority of fans are really not going to complete the 200 Tiers anytime soon as the tier progression system is extremely lengthy.

No matter how skilled you are, receiving a single item can take more than an hour. Sadly, the items you unlock can’t be equipped unless you own a full set. This may not always be the case, but to use items like emotes, outfits, sprays, and stickers, you have to wait until you find the right match for the unlocked item.

Recently, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 received a new special order Fall Firearms. The time-limited special order has disappointed many fans as it costs a lot of points. This special order, which costs 2000 CoD points, is now available for purchase and if we look at the value of 2000 CoD points, it will be around $20.

According to fans, Activision has already messed up because players are paying AAA price for the game and on top of that, developers want them to pay more. If players don’t pay, they are being forced to invest an infinite amount of time to unlock those items.

From Activision’s point of view, there’s nothing they have added which can’t be unlocked by playing the game. Even if players don’t get the unlockable items, there will be no big difference in the gameplay. It is more about personal choices, but now when the game is focused more on social elements, and with the Blackout mode, players want something they can enjoy without paying a large amount of money or time. Taking the PUBG road was a tough decision for Activision, but now when they are on it, people will certainly compare the gameplay experience they get from a free-to-play game like PUBG and the BO4 for which they are paying AAA price upfront.

Meanwhile, Battlefield V is taking a safer approach by not introducing microtransactions in the beginning. DICE has specifically said in a blog post that the company won’t enable pay for power elements in the game. Earlier this year, EA faced a lot of criticism for its other games, so we assume that the company will learn from those mistakes and they will also be careful after the heat Activision is facing.
