Levels of Consciousness: Once Awaken We are Obligated to Awaken Others.

(ThyBlackMan.com) The following quotes are from the Washington Times, Tuesday, August 28, 2018: “NFL legend Jim Brown declared that the black community ‘has a responsibility’ to fix its own problems rather than placing the blame on President Trump. In an appearance on ‘Fox & Friends,’ the former Browns running back called Mr. Trump an ‘exceptional’ president who genuinely cares about the country, but that he isn’t responsible for the black community’s troubles.”

Mr. Jim Brown, the great former NFL running back is held in high regards by many…black and white alike…throughout America.  His record as an activist in civil rights affairs speaks for itself as he was at one time a champion of change a fighter against inequality and social injustice, stood up to anyone and everyone backing down from no one, and to now see him supporting Trump, who has shown nothing but utter contempt for the black community is a travesty.

During the 1970s the Justice Department sued Trump for systematic discrimination in refusing to rent to African-Americans. He gained notoriety for taking out full-page ads championing the death penalty for the Central Park Five, five young African-Americans accused of raping and murdering a jogger in Manhattan’s Central Park. They were convicted in a wave of hysteria only to be released after years in prison when DNA evidence proved they were innocent of the crime. There is no indication that Trump ever apologized. He called Nazis in Charlottesville “very fine people.”

Referred to African countries as “sh*tholes” calling for more immigrants from places like Norway. Referred to NFL players protesting social injustice as SOB’s falsely accusing them of being unpatriotic and disrespecting the flag. To mute the oppressed has always been in the best interest of the oppressor.  When a black voice is raised to oppression those who are comfortable with our oppression are the first to criticize us for daring to speak out against it.

Jim Brown’s support of Trump…ignoring his wanton contempt for black people…is unfathomable; however, his position that the black community must not lean on Trump but be accountable for its own problems rings true to a point. Black people either become self-empowered, economically independent or will forever be a doormat for the rest of the world. In other words, so long as we are dependent on the oppressor for our salvation, hell will freeze over first before they treat African-Americans with equality. To overcome oppression requires unification of the race…something we had during the 60s…but have since lost it. Integration has obliterated our will to unite, far too many of us have fallen into the trap of individualism.

We look at the accomplishments certain individuals have achieved and mistake it for group success. Despite these achievements, African-Americans [as a group] have retrogressed.  Black unity (tribalism) does not mean we will all have the same religion, ideology, socioeconomic status or live in the same community. Black unity happens when we put all those differences to the side and realize that if we don’t come together we’re complicit in our own genocide.  No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it so to continually play the blame game, place our destiny into the hands of others…is a gross error in judgment.

There are paternalistic white people, arrogant and narcissistic enough to think they have a right to dictate to black people who our heroes are to be, can and cannot follow and with whom we can and cannot align ourselves with. It’s audacious and disrespectful, less than professional, less than humane for a group of people who have participated in the systematic dehumanization, marginalization and denigration of another people for which they have never offered reparations, never condemned, never apologized to turn around and make demands from the same people that they have oppressed for centuries. In other words, white folks…especially Republicans…expect non-thinking black folks to defend them against any acts of inhumanity that they are guilty of.

Perception is reality!  Racists, religious extremists, bigots and white supremacists all align themselves with the Republican party.

To be candid most black people don’t have a problem with white folks, white supremacy, white racism because when people REALLY have a problem with how they are being treated…they do something about it, and certainly do not embrace a slave term that degraded, dehumanized and objectified their ancestry…the vile and evil N-word…n**ger/n**ga.  Has there ever been a time in American History when white folks weren’t killing black folks with impunity? No! Labeling African-Americans as the N-word justified any acts of systematic cruelty debasement and dehumanization and still does.

Not all African-Americans use the N-word, however, far too many do, and when one support rappers and entertainers that humiliate and degrade their own race with use of the pejorative term, that individual is participating in cultural genocide; contributing to the emotional, psychological, spiritual, and cultural extermination of the Black race.

When it comes to racism it’s not the white supremacist who are the problem it’s the white moderates and conservatives…who tend to be complicit…by trying to dismiss it. They attempt to try justifying, and make valid what are essentially naked, raw statements of racism by trying to dismiss it simply as a difference of opinion.

Equality and social justice for African-Americans isn’t the intent of neither political party. To address the dilemma African-Americans only hope is to unite becoming a single voting bloc. This isn’t a clarion call for a black political party, but there is a need for a Black political union where we use our muscle to get political concessions from both the Republican and Democratic parties this is not about friendship this is business. No need to like the person you are dealing with…what we should want is an agreement…no need for emotional involvement. Self-empowerment not necessarily black politicians should be the goal. Black politicians are beholding to their political parties and therefore find themselves obligated to support any and all-party policies towards black folks.

There are those who are quick to point out pathological issues emanating within the black community such as black on black crime, fatherless homes, etc. which are symptoms but develop amnesia when it comes to addressing the root cause of these symptoms e.g. Reagan administration flooding the black community with drugs and to this day haven’t recovered from.

Since its inception the American societal has proven to be a society of criminals, ran by criminals and a creator of criminals; enslavers, rapist, robbers, sadists, killers and psychopaths. When we look at the origins of our society we will recognize that it is founded on criminal activities. It is founded on the murder and theft of Native Americans and their land; the kidnapping, manslaughter and extortion of African people. The labor and enslavement of African people. The very nature and foundation of the American society rests on two massive genocidal crimes, and these original crimes is a part of its present-day nature all of which is being projected off onto the black community.

The residual affects have negatively influenced Black America creating pathological issues that unless addressed by the black community will go unresolved. The voices of dissent…in the black community…are silent against the continual decline of moral and character values as we refuse to hold people accountable and responsible for any conduct detrimental to the welfare of our community.

Rap artists serve as a conduit to some of the problems. They have and are being used as tools to contaminate the minds of adolescents with self-destructive messages of crime, violence, misogyny, sagging pants and use of the N-word. Implanting false values, principles and beliefs into the psyche of our youth that life is all about money, fame, drugs, sex, and that going to prison is a badge of honor, the main stream media is complicit in exacerbating this agenda.

Many of us are naive enough to think that if white people see us as people like them they would have a change of attitude and come to love us…failing to understand…the true nature of racism. Ultimately black people salvation lies in group power, self-determination, not in the good will of other people, not in the love of other people, not in laws on the books, not in individualism.  We must also not be deceived by Meritorious Manumission and the Black middle class that puts a black face on White Power serving as a roadblock to our salvation…which is unification.
