(ThyBlackMan.com) I, like many other women, have been a Nas fan since Illmatic. I love the lyricism, the flow, the voice behind the delivery, and he’s gorgeous. Let’s be real…Nas is a MAN, and his mind just makes me love him more. I can’t lie, since it wasn’t going to be me, I loved Nas and Kellis together before the fallout of course. And I admit I always thought of him as the artist that would need authenticity about all else. With that being said, I looked on my newsfeed and saw him with Nicki Minaj and at first glance that made my head hurt. A midst all the adoring supporters of this couple prospect I have no shame in admitting I didn’t like it…and I’m still not sure if I ever will.
Nicki Minaj has never been an artist I liked, don’t hate her…just not feeling her at all. I respect her hustle, and ability to market herself 
and make her money. I respect that she has a pretty deep fan base. Unfortunately, the Nicki I respected as an artist was underground, and is long gone. Granted she is beautiful so I can see the attraction.
It just boggles my mind how Hip-Hop hustle ends up with Hip-Hop legend. This is the part that makes me turn my head and wonder what is on Nas mind. It can only be hoped that Nicki Minaj wouldn’t use a relationship it Nas to, in some instances, validate her further as a Hip-Hop artist. Don’t get mad…it happens, and I really do hope that’s not the case. Let’s not forget Nas’s name was mentioned when Remy Ma was tearing into Nicki Minaj.
We never truly know a person. The celebrities we see have a private face; we are only privy to the face they require in public. What I do understand is Nas knows Nicki Minaj better than I do, and there may be many endearing qualities that would make them work as a couple. Like, who am I to judge whether this match is good or not? There are just so many details we simply do not know.
Many fans are calling the couple together. There has been enough sighting of them together, and PDA to assume they are indeed a couple. However, until Nicki Minaj or Nas confirms the rumor that they are together I simply refuse to acknowledge them as such. Nas will always be one of my all-time favorite artists, and I will always want him to be happy. He seems like he would be such a cool dude. If Nicki Minaj does it for him so be it…I guess I will just have to be a tad sore about this one.
