(ThyBlackMan.com) Lady justice is blind. Simply obey the laws of the land. If you are pulled over by the police respect the officers, and comply. The officers are simply trying to do their job. Raise your children to respect authority figures. Yes, the justice system is not perfect, but this is an isolated situation. Look, when police officers are on the streets they fear for their life, and they want to go home to their family at the end of the day. Every police officer is not a bad apple; you are creating a climate by which the police is hated, and this makes them a threat for violence. Do you protest when police officers are killed…doesn’t their life matter? If you don’t want to deal with the police stop behaving in suspicious manners.
The court system does not single handedly target blacks…many white people go to jail also. Please just comply; if there is a problem get the badge number of the officer and file a complaint. Black people are not the only ones killed by the police when they are not in compliance. BaraCk Obama helped to create the climate of hatred and division we are living in. Black people have something to say when a white person or officer kills a black person, but what you say nothing about black on black crime.
Many of us have head several of the statements mentions, and I’m sure there are more. Too many white people want to justify to us why we lose our life at the hands of the police, and explain away the root issue. The bottom line is we are not seen as human…our humanity is not worth protecting nor acknowledging. The origins of this country cannot be wished away when the stench of it is alive and present. Philando Castile was gunned down in his car, while complying, in front of his fiancé, and daughter.
Take a moment to realize his kid could have been killed in the incident…his fiancé could have been killed also since the officer shot into the car. No human being in that car had their life considered. This horrific crime was seen by millions…there was no doubt about the actions of the officers. Philando Castile was not a thug, and he did not own an illegal firearm. However, he was murdered in cold blood while complying with the instructions given by the officer. I’m painting a simply picture, because what took place was clear…not complicated at all. However, this would not be enough to convict his murderer.
There is nothing white people, nor any other person of color, can tell us about how to function within the system. The bottom line is if you aren’t seen as a human being you could end up gunned down like a dog. Wait, but in this country, the life of animals are literally valued and defended before the life of black people. There are those in this country that would lament and mourn the death of an animal while explaining that the death of a human being is justifies. The truth is it doesn’t matter whether we follow the rules or not. It doesn’t matter if we are intelligent respectable citizens with families, and decent paying jobs. No black person in this country is immune to the inhumane perception of black people. This is something money, status, nor education can wash away. The murder of Philando Castile, and the freeing of his killer, without a doubt killed any argument by any race in this country telling blacks if you simply behave, if you simply comply, if you simply aren’t a criminal you won’t die.
