(ThyBlackMan.com) What does it take to get the absolute best results from a workout program? Do you need a fitness expert? A gym membership? A subscription to a fitness magazine? The answer is none of the above!

Do those things help you to achieve your goals? Absolutely. Studies show, however, that a host of factors play into whether any person achieves measurable results when it comes to fitness and exercise. The fact is it really does not require a ton of knowledge to get into shape. If you are willing to do more than just Google a workout, you can see some great results.

Here’s the key: Whether you hire a fit pro or go it alone, you need four well-organized components to see the absolute best results when it comes to elevating your fitness level. Use the following keys to great exercise results!

Structure

Often, when I ask what they worked on during their workout, most people respond, “everything!” The opposite of structure is what I call a “willy-nilly” workout – a workout in which there is no targeted purpose. This person usually begins the workout with a little cardio, and then heads to the machines for ab work and then more machines for various other muscle groups before finishing it all off with more cardio. While that may seem like a pretty good regimen, often the end-result is often minimal.

Structure simply means you have set a goal for your workouts. The best way to move toward that goal is following a set of objectives. When you exercise within a set structured pattern, your end-results are more identifiable and you see more progress.

Accountability

This is probably the most important of the four. Self-motivation is the key to success for any endeavor. But many exercise programs fall by the wayside simply due to a lack of accountability. You can push yourself, but when you have someone pushing you – and refusing to take no for an answer – you’ll see double the results.

When there is no external source pushing you, the tendency to falter is always lurking.

Expertise

Equally important is expertise – the ‘know how’ to get you to where you want to be. Lack of expertise, or know how, is the number one cause of injuries and, thusly, the leading culprit for giving up altogether.

Of course, the biggest complaint here is that most people cannot afford expertise. Actually, though, a committed fitness expert can ultimately save you money! I often tell new clients that – based on their fitness level and goals – they really should not need me after six months. I love it when a client arrives at the point of being able to conduct their own fitness regimen outside of my expertise! Again, it requires a dedicated fit pro.

Inspiration

Closely connected to expertise is inspiration. Most people have the inspiration to begin but many lack the courage to finish! Inspiration can come in one of two ways: internal and external. The key to success is internal motivation. However, when your internal motivation is surrounded by a positive, external source – your success is guaranteed!

The inspiration a fit pro brings comes from knowing what motivates you and coming up with creative techniques to tap into that motivation. Through the use of mantras, affirmations and clearly defined goals, you can inspire yourself to fantastic results!

Whether you go it alone or hire a pro, make sure you include the aforementioned keys for success!
