(ThyBlackMan.com) Okay Evelyn Lozada has been in the headlines of internet news, blogs and various gossip sites for a moment.  My question is why and who is she?  Where did she come from and why are we the media so interested in her life?

Well here’s the run down. Evelyn Lozada is widely known as one of the cast members of the reality television show Basketball Wives, which premiered on VH1 in 2010.  Of course we all know that the show Basket Ball Wives centers on the lives of the wives, ex-wives, girlfriends and past girlfriends ofLatina Magazine 15th Anniversary Celebration professional NBA ballers.

Evelyn Lozada was born in the Brooklyn, New York and raised in the Bronx. She later eventually moved to Miami, Florida. Prior to her fame on Basketball Wives she worked as a secretary for an entertainment attorney and she later owned a shoe boutique in Coral Gables, Florida called Dulce. Prior to her overnight fame thanks to VH1’s Basketball Wives Lozado was an unknown, at least in my part of the world. But isn’t that the case with most reality television stars?

Evelyn Lozada was engaged to NBA star Antoine Walker during a ten-year relationship. This romantic merger obviously paid off giving Lozado a chance in the spotlight on national, cable and satellite television.  After her breakup with Antoine Walker she began dating NFL star Chad Johnson AKA, Chad Ochocinco, whom she later married on July 4th of 2012.

That marriage did not last long. Chad Ochocino was arrested for head butting his wife during an altercation when Evelyn found condoms supposedly belonging to her then husband Chad. That breakup was one that was constantly in the news and on the minds of many. We all lived through the ugly divorce, name calling and the back and forth tweets airing both of their dirty laundry, much of which is still going on today.

Lozada seems to be trying everything to keep her name out there. Evelyn Lozada and her brand strategist, Courtney Parker, wrote a novel titled Inner Circle in 2012. Ironically the book is about a woman who marries a football star and then forms a group of other sports wives. Wow that’s took a lot of creativity on the part of Lozado and her strategist. I wonder how those book sells turned out. If you’re interested in that one you can buy it online at Amazon used as cheap as $7.29.

Evelyn Lozada also has a fashion line Vida Lux, her appearance on Iyanla’s Fix My Life and her supporting PETA’s,  “I’d Rather Go Naked than Wear Fur” campaign.

So even with the PETA Campaign, her clothing line and her famous divorce I still know nothing of substance about Ms. Evelyn Lozada. Do you? If so leave a comment and chime in.
