(ThyBlackMan.com) Pizza magnate Herman Cain is reportedly considering an endorsement of Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich, according to reports from Politico.

FOX 5 Atlanta sent a tweet out Sunday night reporting that sources close to Herman Cain say the former Republican presidential candidate will endorse Newt Gingrich on Monday.

Herman Cain has not yet made an official endorsement for Newt Gingrich, although he did announce Saturday that he would be endorsing a candidate, following an announcement that he would suspend his campaign for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.

The endorsement would likely give Newt Gingrich the support of former Herman Cain supporters, who were left void of a candidate Saturday when the former Godfather’s Pizza executive exited the race. R.C. Hammond, a spokesman for Newt Gingrich, told CBS News he does not expect an endorsement “today,” noting that Herman Cain’s former campaign chief has publicly stated that he does not expect an endorsement anytime soon.

Reports of the possible endorsement surface just one week after FOX 5 aired an interview with Ginger White claiming to have been involved in a 13 year affair with Herman Cain.

The former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has spoken highly of Herman Cain throughout his campaign, even stating that he would consider having Herman Cain run as his vice presidential candidate if he won the nomination.

After the Georgia Republican withdrew from the race Saturday, Newt Gingrich, a fellow Georgia native, released the following statement on his website.

“Herman Cain’s 999 plan got our country talking about the critical issue of how to reform our tax code and he elevated the dialogue of the Republican presidential primary in the process” Newt Gingrich said in the statement.

“I am proud to know Herman Cain and consider him a friend.  I know from having worked with him for more than a decade he will continue to be a powerful voice in the conservative movement for years to come,” Newt Gingrich added.

An NBC News/Marist poll released Sunday showed Mr. Gingrich in the lead among Iowa voters with 26 percent of likely Iowa caucus voters. The poll was conducted prior to Herman Cain suspending his campaign, though 28 percent of those who voted for the pizza magnate had selected Newt Gingrich as their second choice.

It remains unclear though which candidate will benefit the most from Herman Cain’s campaign suspension.
