(ThyBlackMan.com) The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 has not been announced, but the rumor mill is active again. The Galaxy Note 8 was a big hit despite being surrounded by discussions about the Note 7’s demise. Now when we are looking forward to seeing a new Note phablet smartphone in 2018, a continuous flow of information about its specifications and features is surfacing online.

Display

The first and most important feature is the device’s display. Samsung is leading the infinity display revolution and with the Galaxy Note 9, we expect the same. As we move further from the release of Samsung’s major smartphones S9 and S9+, The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is expected to have slightly bigger display than its predecessor. Rumors suggest that the new phone will sport a 6.38-inch display.

The screen will be curved on both the sides and the display resolution will be same as the Note 8. The 18:5:9 aspect ratio and the resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels will remain unchanged and some reports say that there will be a 4K display option.

In-display Fingerprint Sensor

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 was rumored to have an in-display fingerprint sensor, but recently the theory was debunked by the same person who predicted this feature for Note 9. According to the source KGI, Samsung is working to build a fingerprint sensor inside the screen, but the feature is kept reserved for the next year’s Note 10.

3850mAh or 4000mAh Battery

In a surprising move, last year, Samsung put a 3300mAh battery in the Note 8 while the discontinued Note 7 had 3500mAh battery. The Note 7’s battery, of course, turned out to be disastrous for Samsung’s Note series but everyone was expecting a bigger battery in the Note 8.

Many smartphones have a 4000mAh battery these days and for a device like Samsung Galaxy Note 9, having this much battery power is an obvious need. A Chinese leaker with a pretty decent track record says that the Note 9 will have a 4000mAh or a 3850mAh battery. Even if Samsung chooses the latter one, the improvement will be significant. But who would want to go for less when accommodating a more powerful battery is no big deal for Samsung?

Camera & Processor

For the Galaxy Note 9, Samsung should definitely go with the latest Snapdragon 845 processor. Both the Galaxy S9 and S9+ are powered by the same processor and we don’t expect a change in this particular area. The Snapdragon 845 is Qualcomm’s latest mobile processor and on the Note 9, it is expected to be accompanied by 6GB or 8GB of RAM. Depending on the region, the phone will likely run on the Exynos 9810 chipset, and 6GB of RAM seems to be enough for both the processors.

For camera lovers, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will probably come with a dual camera setup. The smartphone camera will have Bokeh effect and special features for low-light photography. As of this writing, there are no reliable leaks about what surprises will the Note 9 bring in the camera department. Details such as the megapixel count, aperture size, and its capability to capture videos in slow motion, animated emoji features are still under wrap. Samsung smartphones’ features like animated emojis are not as polished as Apple’s Animojis but we can expect improvements from Note 9 release. With the Samsung Note 9, you won’t need to master your dslr camera to take great photos

Bixby

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 could also launch with Bixby 2.0 which is an updated version of the Samsung’s own artificial intelligence-based virtual assistant. This one-year-old assistant has got many updates from the company and now the Note 9 is expected to bring its latest version on board.

Price and Other Features

The Note 9 will sport a headphone jack. The device will also come with the IP68 rating which means it is water and dust proof and can be submerged in water up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will support the S Pen stylus and will also feature iris and face recognition technologies.

As far as the price of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is concerned, analysts predict that the phone will be more expensive than its predecessor. The device is expected to be costlier than other Samsung smartphones. One reason to believe this claim is that Samsung has always followed a pattern – it doesn’t decrease the prices of its flagships.

If the company follows its release pattern also, the smartphone will arrive sometime in August. What do you think would be new this time with the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 release? Share with us in comments below.
