His father and mother were immigrants to the United States from Taiwan; they are both 5 feet and 6 inches tall. He is said to have gotten his height from his maternal grandmother’s family. His maternal grandfather was 6.0 feet tall

A self confessed Christian with a Christian background, he started playing basketball as a kid when his father taught him and his two other brothers how to play. Jeremy Lin’s mother then helped form a National Junior Basketball Ball program where they lived in Palo Alto. She worked with coaches to ensure that Lin’s academic performance was not affected.

Jeremy Lin started shining when he was captain in high school, he led Palo Alto to win a 32-1 record. He also led his team to drub Mater Dei, which was ranked nationally, 51-47, when they played for the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Division state 2016-jeremy-lin-charlotte-hornetstitle. He awarded the Division II player of the Year of California. He averaged 15.1 points, 7.1 assists, 5.0 steals, and 6.2 rebounds.

Jeremy Lin never got an athletic scholarship to college. This was attributed mainly to his ethnicity. He ended joining Harvard. He played so well that he was in the first Ivy League team in his last two years in college.

After college, he still had difficult being picked by the top NBA teams, until the New York Knicks picked him. Jeremy Lin spent several games on the bench before he took the world by storm on February 2012. During a match against New Jersey Nets, he scored 25 points, sending his team to victory.

In a match against Los Angeles Lakers, Jeremy Lin earned more points than the Legendary Kobe Bryant. In less than two weeks he changed from an unknown athlete to an international NBA star. He appeared in several magazines and a replica of his No. 17 Jersey became a top seller.

Jeremy Lin got a 2 year/ $4,374,255 contract with Charlotte Hornets. This included $4,374,255 that is guaranteed. In the 2015-16 period, will earn a basic salary of $2,139,000.
