(ThyBlackMan.com) Born on September 4, 1981 in Houston, Texas, Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter famously known as Beyonce, is an American singer, record producer, songwriter, and actress. She took part in various singing and dancing competitions in her childhood. In the late 1990s, Knowles rose to fame as the lead singer of the R&B girl group known as Destiny’s Child. It is one of the most successful and best-selling girl groups of all time.

Albums

Beyonce released her first solo album “Dangerously in Love” during the hiatus of Destiny’s Child in 2003. Two singles of that album “Baby Boy” and “Crazy in Love” were top singles on the Billboard 2015-music-beyonce-gay-marriageHot 100 at that time and earned her five Grammy Awards.

After Destiny’s Child disbanded in 2005, Beyonce released her second solo album “B’Day” in 2006. Her second solo album was also a hit as it included 10 top singles including “Irreplaceable”, “Déjà Vu” and “Beautiful Liar”.

Her third album “I Am… Sasha Fierce” released in 2008, spawned many hit singles including “If I Were a Boy”, “Halo”, “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on it)” and “Sweet Dreams”. Beyoncé won six Grammys due to that album in 2010 and broke the record of winning most Grammy Awards by a female artist in a single night.

Her fourth solo album “4”, released in 2011, made her the third singer in the history to have first four albums debut on top of the chart.

In December, 2013, Beyoncé released her fifth album named “Beyoncéwithout any prior announcement or promotion on iTunes and broke the record by becoming the first female artist in the history to have her first five albums debut at number one on the chart.

Acting Career

Beyoncé made her acting debut in a musical film called “Carmen: A Hip Hopera” in 2001. After that she appeared in various major films such as Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002), The Pink Panther (2006), Cadillac Records (2008), Life is But a Dream (2013), etc.

Fashion Lines

Beyonce and her mother introduced their very own fashion line called “House of Deréon” in 2005. She released her first perfume “Heat” in 2010. Knowles has endorsed many brands including Pepsi, L’Oréal, Tommy Hilfiger, Vizio, and Nintendo. Beyonce was ranked number one on Forbes list of the “100 Most Powerful and Influential Musicians in the World” in 2010. She was named “World’s Most Beautiful Woman” in 2012 by People magazine.

Beyoncé married American rapper Jay-Z in April 2008.
