(ThyBlackMan.com) This cute singer is the oldest member of the boy band One Direction. Louis Tomlinson was welcomed into this world by Johannah and Troy Austin on December 24, 1991. He was born in Doncaster, which is a town in Yorkshire, England.
His Growing Years and Educational Life
Louis’s parents divorced when he was young and he took up the last name of his stepfather Mark Tomlinson. Talking about his family, Louis is the oldest of 6 children. He has five young stepsisters out of which two are twins. Their names are Charlotte, Felicite, twins Daisy and Phoebe and 
Georgia.
Daisy and Phoebe has also starred in a comedy television show called Fat Friends. Louis Tomlinson on the other hand was cast as an extra. He then on at the age of 11 went on to take acting classes and landed up with small parts in television series If I Had You and Waterloo Road.
On the educational front, Louis Tomlinson attended the Hayfield School in Doncaster. When he failed to graduate from there, he moved on to complete his studies in Hall Cross Academy. Here he took part in many school plays including musicals such as Grease. Out of school, he took up part time jobs in Doncaster Rovers Football Club and retail stores such as Toys R Us. If not for a singer, Louis would have opted out to take up teaching drama as a profession.
X Factor the Turning Point in His Career
They say you never know what Lady Luck has in store for you. When one door closes, she opens up another door for you. This is what happened in the case of 5 people, who took part in X Factor that was held in Dublin in 2010. One of these was Louis Tomlinson.
Louis attended the audition for X Factor, where he got 3 votes from the judges for singing “Hey There Delilah” a very popular number that was originally sung by Plain White T’s. He received three votes. He advanced to further rounds, but was eliminated in the finals. The judges then united him with four of the other competitors for a group act. Here is where the new boy band “One Direction” was formed. They finished the competition in the third place and were signed on by Simon Cowell.
After X Factor got over, Tomlinson faced a lot of criticism from Steve Brookstein, the winner of the first X Factor. Brookstein stated that Louis Tomlinson was not that good a singer and he could not believe that he made it to the finals. This did not go down well with his fans and they took to twitter to express their support to Tomlinson.
Personal Life of Tomlinson
Tomlinson is considered to be the prankster of his group. He is said to be dating a college student and model by the name of Eleanor Calder. Calder and Louis Tomlinson were set up on a date by his band mate Harry Styles. The couple just happened to get along and have been together ever since from September 2011.
