Unperturbed, Liam came back again 2 years later with his rendition of “Cry me a river” to which he received a standing ovation on the show. Later, in conjunction with Simon Cowell, they formed the pop group One Direction with other solo contestants from the X factor show.

On March 2012, Liam Payne and his group made history by being the first British group to make it to number one on the American billboard charts. This was by their album ‘Up All Night’ that was critically acclaimed and widely received in the American region. Not only did the album top charts here, but in 15 other countries worldwide. Commenting on the success of the album, Liam Payne was quoted as saying “It still seems strange to say that, everything’s happened this quickly. We didn’t expect to be over here releasing an album. I don’t think it’s quite hit home yet.”

Liam Payne started perfecting his singing from an early stage. Though not his first love, he decided to focus on it after missing out on a chance to represent his school in the athletics competitions. Born in 1993, Liam Payne is the third oldest member of the One Direction band. His parents are still together and he has 2 sisters, Nicola and Ruth. He is known to be a loyal and generous friend. Recently, the Daily Post reported that he bought his friend Wizkid a bottle of champagne that is touted to be more than a million pounds for his 24th birthday. He is also a good supporter of his hometowns West Bromich Album Football Club. So where does he draw his inspiration from? Justin Timberlake and Gary Barlow top the list.
