(ThyBlackMan.com) Zayn Malik is of mixed descent. His father is British-Pakistani and his mother is English. This cultural mixed may be credited to his love for music. Although he never shared his dreams of making it as a singer, he was the nervous one who made it. He admitted that he was nervous when he first ventured into singing while in school. But such feelings have gotten the best of him. It has given him the drive to make his singing as good as it can be. Later on Zayn Malik decided to try it out on television.

It Started With the Manchester Audition

During the seventh series of The X Factor, an event that was organized inZaynMalik Manchester, Zayn Malik then 17, went for an audition. He sang “Let Me Love You” by Mario and all the three judges during the seventh series: Simon, Louise and Nicole gave him a unanimous yes. His audition was not seen live on television. Later on it was broadcast through The Xtra Factor. It was then that people noticed him. He was given the change to join those who passed the audition for boot camp, a comprehensive camp for singers and musicians. It was a chance of a lifetime for Zayn Malik.

It Continued on at Boot Camp

When it was time for boot camp, Zayn Malik became noted by other members for being nervous. An important incident happened when he was instructed to dance but he became nervous. His reaction was that he remained backstage and was in danger of being eliminated from boot camp. He was just lucky because Simon noticed he was not present. Simon found him and convinced him to do the dance routine. Zayn Malik later admitted he became nervous because he was not confident enough to dance. But that’s all in the past now.

It Was Made Better with One Direction

While Zayn Malik may be the nervous one who made it, he was made a better singer and performer when he was allowed to join One Direction, the boy band that made him a star, together with four other English kids. Their debut studio album with Sony Music’s subsidiary Syco Music entitled Up All Night was the beginning of music hits that came one after the other. Aside from studio recording, One Direction went on a musical tour that reputedly earned them millions. There was one time that Zayn Malik left One Direction while on tour as he went back to the UK due to a family member’s passing away.
