(ThyBlackMan.com) On Thursday, Mitt Romney addressed the rumors again, during an interview with Fox News Radio’s “Kilmeade & Friends.”

“Dr. Ron Paul is a very independent sort as you know. We have only seen each other briefly in halls; we have never had a sit-down discussion,” said Mitt Romney.

“My hope would be to get the support of these folks. Let me tell you, I will support our nominee. There are four of us on the stage, I will support whoever our nominee is, I will go to work and help whether it is Newt Gingrich, or Rick Santorum or Ron Paul. I want one  of these people to replace Barack Obama; I think I am the best person to do that,” added the former Massachusetts governor.

Following a nationally televised presidential candidate debate in Arizona in February, reports surfaced that Mitt Romney and Ron Paul might have a secret alliance. The reports surfaced because the majority of Ron Paul’s criticism during that debate was reserved for former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum.

Additionally, when political analysts started looking back at past debates and ads run by the Ron Paul campaign team, they realized that Ron Paul had never been as critical of Mitt Romney as he has been of the other remaining candidates.

During an interview prior to the Michigan Republican primary election, Mr. Santorum referred to Ron Paul as Mitt Romney’s “wing man.”

Conservative radio show host Rush Limbaugh also suggested that Dr. Ron Paul was in an alliance with Mitt Romney in order to secure a vice presidential running mate slot for his son, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul.

Rand further increased the speculation by telling reporters at one point that he would be “honored” to run as Mitt Romney’s VP.

However, Mitt Romney sought to quell the rumors again this week.

“I have no plans in that regard at all. Haven’t even had a discussion about running mates at this point,” said Mitt Romney referring to whether he would select Rand Paul as his VP. “We talk about the fact of what characteristic we want in a running mate if I get the nod is someone who is unquestionably capable to step in as president if that were necessary.”

Note: Would you like to see a Ron Paul/Mitt Romney ticket? Or is his son Rand Paul a better choice? Is Ron Paul at a standstill now? What can Ron Paul do to energize the GOP? Make them take notice of what he is doing?
