When Karma Comes Knocking.

(ThyBlackMan.com) Recently hip hop rapper Jay Z stated that he will no longer use the B word in his lyrics because of the birth of his daughter Blue Ivy.  I can appreciate this change in his point of view if you can truly call it that.  However, after years of degrading women why did the birth of his daughter suddenly cause him to have such opposition to the B word?

As a matter of fact why do some men become appalled when the word is used towards their daughter and no one else? What happened to your mothers, your sisters, aunts and grandmothers?  What about your cousins and other women that are a part of your life? Do they not deserve the same?

When a man holds his baby daughter in his arms with her pretty pink bows, dressed in frilly lace his heart melts.  When he looks into her eyes and chubby face he does not see a woman to degrade, but his baby girl that should be protected.

He will love her as most fathers do and he will expect all men to respect her just the same.  But eventually he gets the wake- up call of his life.  As his daughter grows he soon discovers that she is being mistreated just as he has mistreated others in the past.

It seems that karma has a way of coming back and biting one in the ass.  Memories of his days as a player and heart breaker come to the forefront. Most of the women he met were merely a tool only for his pleasure. There were never plans for commitment or marriage, only knocking the boots.

When he played games with their hearts it never occurred to him that they were someone’s daughter, sister and even mother. He did not care because he was only concerned with himself.

Well times have changed and now that karma has shown its ugly face, the game he now plays is fatherhood.  He clinches at the thought of some young, conniving boy lying to his daughter only to get under her skirt.  The thought alone makes his blood boil.  He no longer uses women for his own satisfaction.  Women are now to be treated with respect and admiration.

Brothers don’t wait to become a father to a beautiful baby girl to begin respecting women.   Don’t let karma come knocking at your door. Do the right thing right now.

Dr. Boyce Watkins was correct in saying that Jay Z should have stopped using the word 20 years ago.  So men start showing adoration and love to all women, as if they were your daughters.
