Herman Cain, MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell Who is Real?

(ThyBlackMan.com) “Is Herman Cain for REAL?” ( Is the sky blue?) This is the idiotic question MSNBC anchor Lawrence O’Donnell asked in his promo for his leftist interview with Herman Cain. Why wouldn’t Herman Cain be for real? Herman Cain is really running for the presidency of the United States as a Republican. In a hypothetical match up against Obama, Herman Cain really comes in a dead heat against Obama. Herman Cain really leads Republican contenders for the White House in a new Zogby poll.

So why in the world would Lawrence O’Donnell ask such a dumb question? The better question to ask is if O’Donnell is for real. I guess O’Donnell like other left wing journalists is doing the dirty work of the Democrat party in attempting to  undermine Cain’s candidacy by reducing Herman Cain to a black joke because he’s running as a Republican. As someone mentioned to me “O’Donnell made an utter fool of himself. It’s the most embarrassing leftist shill interview I’ve ever seen, and it abandons journalistic integrity further than I ever thought MSNBC could.”

But it also demonstrates how completely panicked, flustered and shocked Democrats are by Cain’s candidacy because they know Herman Cain has the REAL ability to chip away at the 96% black vote Obama enjoyed in 2008. Black support for the first black president has plummeted from 83% to 58% and even if Herman Cain doesn’t win the GOP presidential nomination in 2012, he’s making black liberals reconsider their support of the Democrat party that dismisses them, makes promises of government salvation it doesn’t deliver on and takes their vote for granted every election cycle.

No other race but the black race gives the majority of their votes to one political party. Even if Herman Cain’s candidacy is able to compel a mere 13% of  to vote for the GOP nominee in 2012 this would hurt Obama. Terrified by the reality Cain’s message is resonating with black liberals, O’Donnell tried to interrogate Herman Cain on his involvement in the Civil Rights Movement, implying that because Herman Cain was in college at the time he “sat on the sidelines” and was a sell out.

It’s absurd to suggest if a black person in the 60’s didn’t march in Civil Rights protests they were not supportive of the movement. Herman Cain delivered the right response: “Did you expect every black student at every black college in America to be out there in the middle of every fight? The answer is no. So for you to say why was I sitting on the sidelines, I think that was an inaccurate deduction that you are trying to make. You didn’t know Lawrence what I was doing with the rest of my life.”

Lawrence’s interview with Herman Cain was sickening to watch. Instead of trying to denigrate Herman Cain, Lawrence should be asking President Obama if he’s for REAL. The country’s chronic unemployment is the highest since the Great Depression, economic growth is non-existent and the only thing Obama’s policies have achieved is jacking up the nation’s debt $4 trillion in three short years.

Yet, the president has the audacity to continue to rebuke Republican members of Congress, chastising them with ultimatums like they better pass his $447 billion jobs stimulus or else. Remember we heard this same refrain in 2009 when Obama and Vice President Biden vowed if Congress passed the $800 billion stimulus, unemployment wouldn’t rise above 8%. We know how that story ended; unemployment has remained at 9% or higher for the past three years with 14 million Americans jobless.

Obama seemed like he was living in an altered state of reality during his recent press conference when he responded to a question that his American Jobs Act bill has no chance of passing. Obama threatened: “If Congress does nothing, then it’s not a matter of me running against them; I think the American people will run them out of town, because they are frustrated, and they know we need to do something big and something bold.”

The REAL fact is the American people are frustrated with President Obama and his inability to come up with any solutions to heal our ailing economy. If anybody is run out of town in 2012 it’s going to be Barack Obama and with Obama’s utterly disastrous record, why isn’t Lawrence O’Donnell asking him “Are you for real Mr. President?” That’s a much more compelling story but it doesn’t serve the liberal agenda.

    amber,

Sorry to say, you’re completely wrong and mistaken on pretty much every account.

-If you cry trying to pay bills, buy gas, and afford heat, then you need to manage your money and career better! We live in a free country. It’s your choice to have a car, and your choice to get an education, and your choice to waste money on fast food or soda (if you do)!

-“”republican party” when they want to strip more rights from us”; as Cain said, significantly more Republicans voted for the Civil Rights Act of 1964 than Democrats. Republicans are all about personal rights! Like the right to your own money (and not handing it out, in the form of 57% of all federal spending), and also in regard to Obamacare and not requiring everyone to buy insurance!

-You said Lawrence is the voice of rational, moral people? Lawrence said he’s offended because Cain followed the directive of the military when they told him to continue doing ballistics analysis for the military!! Hello?!

    @Kieth
Your uninformed, black and white view of our country’s political system is a common thread eating away at the intelligence of our nation. America is a HYBRID of Capitalism AND Socialism. What do you think the US Mail, Police and Fire Depts and the Armed forces are(not to mention Medicare). The govt taxes it’s citizens and then redistributes that money to pay for the services that benefit it’s citizens. Should we do away with those services? Also, like a lot of other people, I know a lot of people who have lost their job’s in this economy and are really struggling to survive, while the rich continue to rake in money on an unprecedented scale. Now you tell me, how are the rich “carrying” anybody? You act like the poor and middle class are all sipping Margaritas on a beach somewhere saying, “Thanks rich people”. If the rich are carrying the poor, then why are so many poor people hurting while the rich are more prosperous than ever?

I am continually frustrated by the leftwing radicals who don’t get it. The double standard they continue to sustain is almost laughable at this point. The lamestream media is a joke! This country was founded and continued in greatness by everything that Herman Cain stands for. I have been pulling for him since day 1, because I don’t care if he doesn’t have experience in some areas. We have a president now that had little experience, and managed to win an election by proclaiming change-it just wasn’t the change most Americans were looking for. We thought that meant that our society would become color blind, but he has only made it worse. Herman Cain is a GODSEND to this country. He can “hire” help for those areas, and hopefully reverse this trend toward America falling apart. It scares me for my kids what this country is trying to become. If you aren’t happy here with a democratic republic, then move somewhere else. Hugo or Fidel would be glad to have you! Herman Cain, you ROCK!

I’m still foaming mad at Lawrence ODonnell’s mistreatment of Herman Cain, so I’m glad to see he’s catching hell for it. Someone forgot to remind Lawrence that when you say anything negative about a black politician, you’re automatically a racist. Liberals made that rule, now it’s biting them in the ass.

  6. Keith says:

If you are interested in a “fair” tax code, push for everyone to be taxed. Half of Americans pay no taxes. They get the same services for free. The other half are carrying them. My medical bills are twice what they should be because I have to pay for the deadbeats who get shot on Saturday night and go to the ER. I pay twice as much in taxes to cover the unemployable people who want to spend their time watching television, playing video games and living off taxpayer subsidized unemployment compensation instead of learning new job skills. If you want to see where America is heading, look to Greece, where all the productive citizens moved to Germany and left the country full of people who spend their time demonstrating for more entitlements, who want someone else to take care of them. It has already started with the “Occupy Wall Street” movement. These people what us to become socialistic. We spent a generation defeating Communism and turned both the USSR and China toward Capitalism and now we are becoming socialistic. What do we do when everyone decides they are tired of carrying the non-producers, stops producing and sticks their hand out?

  7. John Anderson says:

Mr. Herman Cain is for real! MSNBC is on channel 356 on DTV and I still don’t watch it. NBC should be embarrassed for leaning so far left that they lose moderate leaning people like myself. Great article Ms. Wright!

  8. Sprinsteen83 says:

So you concede that Black people vote overwhelmingly for Democrats. I wonder why that is? In your reference to the civil rights movement, do you need to be reminded that the opponent of said movement was the GOP? And what about the Republican introduced Voter ID requirements, which is nothing more than thinly veiled voter suppression, preventing so many of those black votes that you claim Cain will get. So supporters of Cain (black and white) face a quandry: do you agree with GOP efforts to require stricter ID regulations for voting (which will inevitably suppress far more black votes), or do you oppose the ID measures, which would allow more blacks to vote? Also ask yourself this: What has the GOP EVER done for (non-wealthy) African Americans that would ever make them want to give you their vote.

  9. Juicemomma says:

If Herman Cain was offended by his interview with Lawrence O’Donnell, he better pull out of the race now, the questions get tougher. If you can’t stand the heat…get out of the kitchen!

  10. ken says:

like lawrence o’donnell stated, it’s herman cain’s ridiculous 9-9-9 plan that disputes his legitimacy, not his blackness.he was right to point out that the math isn’t just not right, it’s not even close. herman’s daddy told him to stay away from those civil rights troublemakers, a statement he took to heart.(good thing every father’s son didn’t do the same thing. way to let someone else carry his water.) this cause, which was extremely instrumental in cain even being accepted as a black presidential contender, was not important enough for cain to participate. but, insuring the well-being of the rich while the poor get nothing; now, there’s a cause this man can get behind. and not just publicly, it’s big enough a cause to jump into the most activist fray in the world. the us presidential election. no,to answer the question, i don’t believe herman cain is for real. for the author: you sound like a republican. this article is karl rove 101. take a shortcoming of the republican party(racism) and try like hell to pin that shortcoming to the opposition. this way, everybody is a racist so the topic can be deemed irrelevant. karl would be proud.

  11. Chris Conlee says:

I’m a white guy, and I probably don’t have much skin in this game, but I gotta tell you: Herman Cain is the first candidate I’ve been truly EXCITED about voting for since Ronald Reagan. I absolutely CANNOT WAIT to vote for this inspiring candidate. Herman Cain 2012!

  12. zwimb says:

Lawrence is not running for President. I get so tired of some of own people trying to identify and in lock step and with the white supremist. They do not need you and will enslave you just like they are planning to do with the rest of us who are not the 1%. So you need to awaken and stop being a tool for them to use. It was so embrassing they whey used Michael Steele and then kick him to the curve after he did there bidding. If do not have mega bucks, then you will be with the rest of USSSS.

  13. Randy says:

    Thank you Crystal Wright

for seeing it and tellin it like it is! Reminds me of what so great about Herman Cain.

This was not an interview, but a interrogation of the worse kind! this was a left wing journalist who is very afraid of Cain and how good he is, and due to Cains Resume of being very a accomplished self made man, O’Donnell was DESPERATE, not having anything bad he could attack Cain on, he went below a snakes belly, to go where he did! Cain made him look like the fool O’donnell is.

Whats more unbeleavable are the people that have taken O’Donnell side on this!

These are the Brainwashed people Cain spoke of!
O’Donnells should loose his job over this!

  14. Pete says:

    Great article.

Why has no one bothered asking Lawrence why he didn’t volunteer for Vietnam? The draft was still around when he was 18. No, Lawrence spent 7 years on a 4 year degree at Harvard instead. Cain was urged by his draft board to continue his work with the Department of the Navy but he still drew his draft number.

Cain is the type of man Lawrence wishes he could be.

  15. Harry says:

A reply to the first comment of “Zwimb”

NO. Cain is not being used by the RNC HE IS USING the RNC to get his unique solutions heard by the American people and to hopefully make him the first fully black president. Obama is half-black as his mother was fully white yet he was sold ot every black person in the United States as their Messiah. Cain is a 100% REAL black man who has a life full of self made success. He was a Vice President of a corperation before it was popular to have visable blacks in the higher ups of your business.

Cain has been a rocket scientist for the Navy, has a Masters in computer science, and was CEO of a Pizza chain going in to Bankrupcy that he single handedly turned around. Cain is what the Democrat slave owners dont want blacks to know about- that they CAN succeed on their own merritts- as Cain is the living proof of this. In fact Cain arguably more successful than any of the other white Republicans running- and Certainly more successful than President Obama. Cain is what America truly needs, not more of the Obama plantation/ New world order idiocy that tramples on ALL Americans liberties and rights.

  16. zwimb says:

Great going Lawrence, Hermain Cain should be accountable for not participating in one of the most important times of the black movement. This man is being used by the GOP just like Michael Steele. They just don’t get it,
the talk of GOP is take us back to slavery. Do you think they will leave Mr. Cain out or any other black who supports this GOP movement. I feel really sorry for them.

  17. mayeeden says:

I posted these comments on MSNBC after seeing this degrading and very partisan interview: What a shameful display of media bias and a very miserable interview full of low blows when you interviewed Herman Cain. He was definitely the adult and the one with decency and manners as you tried to sink him with every cheap shot you could muster.

You need to apologize to Mr. Cain and all of America. You are the racist who works for the plantation owner and Herman is the fine gentleman here. I sent in my most generous donation to Herman Cain after seeing this vile display on MSNBC. Go Herman Cain, Go all the way.

If you have not seen this hatchet job interview, it is easy to find on the web and you should watch it.

  18. This is so accurate an assessment, and I’m thankful you have written truth–even if people like O’Donnell and others are themselves “brainwashed” into thinking that their liberal agenda is what all Americans want and how all of us think. Herman Cain showed his grace and dignity and brilliance in coping with such an immature and vitriolic interview. It was like walking through a field of land mines, and Mr. Cain came out unscathed by what was so obviously an “enemy assault.”

    President Herman Cain in 2012~
