Alinda Pete; Casey Anthony – The Verdict A Broken System…

(ThyBlackMan.com) I actually was one of the seemingly “few” that did not get totally immersed or wrapped up in the Casey Anthony trial. When the child’s body was found, and some of the circumstances that led up to the child’s dissapearance and death became known – I could not forsee how any justice meted out by man and according to man’s law would ever ameliorate the circumstances.

Already turned off to stories about children dying at the hands of their parents – (Google Shaquan Duley), there was no desire to “follow” this particular trial or the media hype that surrounded it.

The circumstances and incidents leading to Caylee’s dissapearance and death and the abject failure of every single adult around her indicates at the very least, a highly dysfunctional, broken family structure. The trial, and subsequent acquittal illustrates the flaws in the system to the highest degree.

To those of you who would interject about the prosecution not proving the case beyond a reasonable doubt, or relying too heavily on circumstantial evidence may I direct your attention to the numbers of black inmates both male and female currently incarcerated on even more flimsy evidence – who couldn’t afford the high priced attorney to get them off.

The system is broken, and has been for some time, with no incentive by its creators to fix it. The families it destroys and the needless lives lost are testaments to this. The unfairness with which the “justice” is meted out in this country every day has gotten to the point where its a given and expected that if you are a person of color and cannot afford a high priced attorney, you’re going to jail.

When the media can mount an all out witch hunt and convict a person in the court of public opinion and a prosecutor with access to all the resources the state and local law enforcement provides can’t get a conviction on even one charge – the entire system is broken and the patches put in place are not working.

In terms of justice for Caylee Anthony she has been delivered from her oppressors and tormentors. Her mother has to live with whatever happened plus deal with her extremely bugged out family members. Sometimes the best justice is not dispensed in a court of law.
