(ThyBlackMan.com) Accuracy, hmmmm. A term that people tend to shun or forget about. And when it is brought up, those so accustomed to living under deception get mad or even reject the truth. Every Sunday Christians and Catholics (and yes I am a born-again child of God, a believer) call on the name of Jesus – the name they believe to be above every name. But there is just one big problem. The Messiah’s name is not Jesus and it never was.
The breakdown of the meaning of words is called etymology and each word has its own meaning in different languages. Therefore when you change a word from its original language, you very often change the original meaning of that word. For some words it may not be a big deal. But if you are going to call on the name above every name (Philippians 2:9), then you need to use the correct name and there is no getting around that.
The Messiah (for those who accept Him) was Hebrew – not Greek, not Latin and not English. His name was Yeshua – not Jesus and not whatever each language wants to call him. In the Bible it is clearly established by God that a different name produce a different meaning. You don’t have to speak Hebrew on everything but you should call on the correct name of the Messiah – a name filled with power and purpose, not inaccuracy, changes or translation. It is in fact God who changes the names, not man (Isaiah 56:5, Isaiah 62:2, Isaiah 65:15, Rev 3:12). And if God does not change the name of the Messiah, man should not dare to do so.
AS LONG AS THEY KEEP YOU DECEIVED, YOU CAN BE MANIPLUATED AND CONTROLLED
God changed Abram to Abraham, Sarai to Sarah and Saul to Paul. Likewise God gives the believer (child of God) a new name ( Rev 2:17). And as you see in Revelations 3:12, even the Messiah has a new name. But because that name has yet to be revealed, we call Him by His Hebrew name – Yeshua. Do not confuse this with how Jehovah’s witnesses want to say God’s name is exclusively Jehovah. God, the Father, is known by many names just as the Son is known as Yeshua and Emmanuel. But the Jehovah’s witnesses inaccuracies are a discussion for another time.
So why are Christians and Catholics calling the Messiah “Jesus”? Because they have been programmed to do so by a worldwide effort and mask of Eurocentric Caucasian deception. And it is complete with excuses for changing the Messiah’s name in order to protect the lie and control the masses. Click the link and learn more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLLQz78w6Bo
The name “Jesus” is a transliteration into English, not a translation. It came from the Latin form of the Greek name “Iesous”. But the Messiah was neither Greek nor Latin. And though the New Testament was translated from Greek, there is no letter “J” in Greek nor in Hebrew – unless they recently added one to cover their lies and inaccuracies.
What harm can it do to call the Messiah “Jesus”? Great harm. First of all it is inaccurate and thus wrong. Secondly it is adding to the Word of God or taking away from it – both cases that cause one to be cursed (Deuteronomy 4:2, Revelation 22:18-19). Thirdly what is wrong, cursed, deceptive and inaccurate cannot set you free. The Bible is clear that you must continue walking in the truth (John 8:30-36) and the truth must be in you in order to set you free. That truth it speaks of is not just knowing the truth but also having the Truth inside you (the Messiah via the Holy Spirit per John 14:6). Fourth of all, it is not rightly dividing the Word of truth as we are commanded to do if we use inaccuracies and make excuses for doing so (II Timothy 2:15).
THOSE WHO MAKE EXCUSES FOR INACCURACY HAVE ANOTHER MOTIVE OTHER THAN TRUTH
Maybe one of the biggest dangers of all is what the catholic church has done. Along with the name “Jesus”, His look has been altered and falsified to look more like a European Caucasian male. Statues, pictures like the fake one on the front of your grandmother’s old Bible have deceptively shaped and reshaped our perception of who the Messiah was and is. One could argue that was intentional because slaves were easier to control if the slave master resembled the “Messiah” and the slave did not. So you see the changes did not stop with the name.
There are at least three general or “major” church communities that exist today, all of which seem to call on the Messiah. The first is the real church that Yeshua founded and that He alone is the Head of. The second is the catholic church but not mentioned anywhere in the Bible and not at all Christian nature (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQhW9vAwCqM). Nor is the Pope. The third is what I call the “Christian” religion – denominational and non-denomination offshoots of the catholic church, many of whom were birthed through the protestant reformation (Lutheran, Presbyterian) and others following somewhat after John the Baptist (Baptist, Southern Baptist, National Baptist).
Along with changing His name, they changed His image to look like a Caucasian European (Romans 1:23). Then they used His teachings to subvert and control the masses through organized religion (Gal. 1:8-10), not relationship (Rom 8:16-17). Then they twisted His teachings to fit their own missions, agenda and objectives. He warned us of “another Christ” in II Cor. 11:4, “another gospel” in Gal. 1:8-10, false apostles in II Cor. 11:13 and adding to God’s word or taking away from it in Prov. 30:6, Rev. 22:18-19, Deut. 4:2 and Deut. 12:32. But they continue to do it anyway and many of you refuse to see.
The Lutheran and Presbyterian churches are commonly known as the Protestant church. The Methodist Church, however, was not produced by the Messiah. It was instead the product of a movement started in 18th century England by John and Charles Wesley. As for accuracy, none of the churches in the second or third group were founded by the Messiah – Yesuha. Not surprisingly all of their origins can be traced back to men, not Yeshua. Just the facts – like them or not.
EITHER A CHURCH IS THE MESSIAH’S CHURCH OR IT IS PURELY MAN’S CHURCH AND NEITHER MAN-MADE CHURCHES NOR THEIR TWISTED DOCTRINES CAN SAVE YOU
So you see accuracy means everything when it comes to the Word of God. But too many “churches”, denominations and groups have a problem with the truth. They are the wheat that has grown up with the tares. They have a form of godliness but deny the power thereof. The Bible calls them “another gospel” (II Cor. 11:3-4, Galatians 1:8-9) but clearly not THE Gospel of the Messiah. And they are comfortable to go right on making changes and promoting inaccuracies and deceptions. They call the Messiah by a different name (the transliterated excuse). They change His appearance. They twist and distort His teaching. They go off on their own missions, behaving more like the Pharisees. And they set up their own churches, pretending to be His. All the while many of them simply promoting themselves, not the Messiah. all the while leading unsuspecting people further into darkness (Matthew 23:15, I John 1:6). This has to stop and the first stage of stopping it is to expose what is really going on – like it or not.
The false church is afraid the people coming to realize I John 2:27 which states:
As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him. | But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. |
1 John 2:27 | NIV | KJV |
What do man-made churches fear? Because church leaders in control of the masses fear the awakening of God’s people to 1 John 2:27, they have what they believe as justification to change names, twist doctrine, mislead/deceive/misinform people and make excuses for all of the above. And the scripture that asks how can you hear without a preacher is a question, not a definitive statement. Wake up people. Wake up.

Catholic church is not the church Yeshua (English translation Joshua) or Yahushuah left his throne to establish. “In the beginning was the word and the word was with G-d and the word was G-d” that was, is still on his throne today, tomorrow and forever more Yeshua the Messiah, King of kings and Lord of lords.
Imo name is very important, if it wasn’t why is it mentioned so many times “name of the Lord”. The name Jesus did not exist 500 years ago so those before that time worshiped who?
I grew up in the catholic church, ten commandments are different, go read it vs the scriptures. What’s up with all the idols? Graven images? Confession to the “father” when G-d said not to call anyone father. Confession to another man, a sinner just like you. Did you know the Pope is a head of state like a president of a nation. G-d looked down and did not find ANYONE righteous, no not one that’s why he left heaven to die for ALL of our sins.
I grew up believing Yeshua was created by G-d. It wasnt until I became a Christian and read the scriptures for myself (very important!! a lot of people just go by what others say) that G-d revealed that Yeshua is the one speaking in the old testament, he made it all through him and by him, he is “the word”. Three in One, Father has never left Heaven, he cannot be around sin, doesnt tolerate it. Man sinned and deserved hell, G-d wanted and will redeem his creation so he sent his “son” – really himself in the flesh. Why do you think the scriptures say the angels were in awe once Yeshua entered our world. Some of the angels had never seen the Father (because of his Glory and spledor), Yeshua was the first time they could get a resemblance of the All mighty. Three in one can confuse many, the Father is spirit, the son (son of man) of the flesh like us and the holy spirit. The son came to redeem us and show us how we should love G-d and our neighbors as ourselves.
I’ve seen the arguments about hebrew, greek to latin and one doesn’t have a letter the other does etc… what about Mary if her name was Myriam in Hebrew? Can you not say Myriam? Like you can say Yeshua, G-d made you capable did he not?
Another name is Bible. Bible means collection of books like bibloteca in spanish but no where in the scriptures is the word Bible. Yeshua and others referred to it as the scriptures. The Bible came from the catholic church when they removed certain books from the scriptures and called it the Holy Bible but G-d said you cannot add nor take away. If we have accepted what today is called the Bible as the word from G-d then why are books mentioned by people in the scriptures removed by the catholic church?
The enemy is the one who causes confusion and division, doesn’t want us knowing the truth. Just know that God entered our world and died for all sins, who was he? Yeshua. When he resurrected recall he told the
Ones walking how all the scriptures were about him… ALL
“Jesus” was a Jewish man with a following. That is IT. Period.
Jehovah is God’s given name.
YAHUEH is the name of the Creator of the seen and the unseen, three-dimensional reality and infinity, mortality and immortality…
God doesn’t have a given name, if he does, who gave this name to him?
of course God has a name – YHWH sometimes pronounced Jehovah; but more correctly Yahweh. and Jesus in not Messiah, he is Mashiach. lets just get really accurate while we are at it.
I read this with eagerness to maybe learn something new. I have been following my Lord quite some time but will admit I am extremely lost when it comes to understanding the word, as some of you do. One thing I do have ABSOLUT faith in the power of prayer.
I came to read and perhaps learn something new but instead all I got was a truck load of confusion. So sad. One of you said it correctly, our job isn’t to fight about the Lords true name, but to spread His message and word throughout all the earth. We are messengers.
So I plan to Fast and Pray excessively so that all who read this understand that the only one who can answer questions like this is our Lord, NOT MAN, man can only confuse, and deceive, and not be more confused and lost like me.
Thank You LORD for the ability to speak to you directly and ask you for clarity on everything I read. I am so definitely going to need you to clear this one up for me, for man has done nothing more than confuse me. I will trust you will answer the questions that this article have created.
I will pray for all those who feel they know more than others, who feel their knowledge is the One and Only true knowledge.
[5] Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.[6] In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Be blessed and may the Great Lord fill you all with Clarity and Understanding.
This is insane and not the slightest biblical. There is a deceptive worldview at work here but I am not going to go into it too deeply, or this would be a 10 paragraph response. Instead I will simply read the words of the Apostle John speaking of Christ:
“He came to his own, and his own own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh, nor or the will on man, but of God. And the Word become flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of Grace and Truth.”
John 1:11-14
The main problem with this article is it takes the focus off of Christ and his salvation to all who believe and focuses on a tertiary issue(the name Jesus), which frankly I see no inaccuracy or diversion. The New Testament was written in Greek, by Hebrews(John was a Hebrew) who would have known exactly how to say the name of the Messiah and his given name…yet John still called the Messiah Jesus. The author of this article hints at a secret knowledge that must be attained(saying the name right) in order to be saved or be right with God, which is no way in accordance with the scripture.
Back to John
From this passage we know this incorrect as the means of salvation is given to us very clearly:
“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God”
We become children of God by believing in Jesus and who he was: The Word, made flesh, living in human form and obeying the law perfectly in every way that he might be righteous before God. He then took up the cross and died there at Golgotha, where the wrath of Almighty God was placed on him for the Sins of wicked sinful humanity. Through faith in Christ, we are cleansed of the sin we have. Sin not because of our race or ethnicity, but the sin we have from our own actions and spitting in the face of our maker and creator with the very breath and life he gives us(John 1:4).
That is the gospel of salvation. You must repent of your sins and turn to him as your only hope, your only means for restoring your relationship with God.
There are a lot of other issues here, for example the Church of Christ is one(Ephesians 4), and protestant off-shoots don’t find their roots in men but in the scriptures(check your history bro, start at October 31, 1517AD). But that’s not the central issue here, it’s the gospel, which this author has sought to waylay behind an Anti-Christ agenda.
If you are still reading, I don’t want you to read this as ridicule but as a call to come to Christ, to know the rest that he gives to all who believe in him(Matt. 11:28-30). Outside of him You will never find fullfillment or the peace that he alone can give. That’s the only reason I’m writing this…I hate internet discussions, they are typically fruitless.
If you have responses, I likely won’t respond, I’m not here to get in a pointless debate or win some brownie points for my own salvation(Salvation is by Grace alone :)). I just want you to consider what was said above, Consider the Gospel of Salvation through Christ alone, by Grace alone that he gives not merited by works but received by an act of faith, and for the Glory of God alone. Run to Jesus, and live!
-Soli Deo Gloria
Also, if it was not clear from my post, Jesus is God. He was the Word with God in the beginning. And he was God.(John 1;1) A member of the trinity we serve and Love(One God, three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
This is essential as it is only because he was God and not born sinful as all other humans are(Romans 5:12), he could be the perfect sacrifice to pay for our sins. He is Fully God and he is fully man(only a man could pay for our sins and be our representative), and is now our resurrected Lord and seated at the right hand of the Father above.
-Soli Deo Gloria
Bro. you NEED to read Psalm 19:2-3 The Most High hearS EVERY LANGUAGE and SPEECH. Psa 19:2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. Psa 19:3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. If you’re going to speak TRUTH—> Ecc 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. As far as the CORRECT NAME TO CALLED UPON–>Psa 138:2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy WORD above ALL THY NAME.
That his word is over his name is an oxymoronic statement. In the beginning was the word. The word wasn’t God or Jesus or the Lord. It was yah. As in hallelu y a h.
The word is your individual genetics that mature into your being, and the beings of all life forms that God made.
HalleluYAH! Praise YAH!

Acts 4:12 ~ Like a PIN or a password, Truth Matters (Yahukhanan 14:6).
Fear is at the root of negative emotions as Love is at the heart of positive emotions (2 Tim 1:7).
The Messiah of Natsaret, for those interested in deliverance and immortality, was Hebrew, of the tribe of Yehudah, and spoke Hebrew Acts 26:14) to Hebrews (Php 3:5).
The Messiah of Natsaret is the Head of the body (Col 2:18-19).
The Messiah of Natsaret is the Brigegroom of the bride (Rev 7:1-8; 14:1).
The Messiah of Natsaret is the Friend of the friends of the Bridegroom (Rev 7:9-10).
The Messiah of Natsaret is the Head of the Called Out (Col 1:18; Eph 5:23).
Only the body/bride/chosen of the Messiah of Natsaret are sealed with the pure Spirit of Sovereign YAH and protected from the three-and-a-half-year Great Tribulation – the blowing of Sovereign YAHUEH’s seven trumpets (Rev 9:4).
The Head of Messiah is the Supreme, the Almighty (1 Cor 11:3).
When the work of redemption is complete, Messiah gives the realm back to the Supreme (1 Cor 15:28).
Paulus of Tarsus and Shaul the Hebrew are one and the same and the servant’s original given names.
Why refer to Yahukhanan as Anglo John?
Gad (Hebrew), pronounced gawd, is the name of an idol. Verbalizing the title god invokes the name of an idol – idolatry.
Jesus (EA Zeus) – idolatry.
First and last rule: no idols; no eye dolls (Exo 20:3; Rev 22:14-15).
Sabbath observance, fourth rule of Sovereign YAHUEH’s agreement (Exo 20:8-11), first ratified in the blood of birds and beasts, now ratified in the blood of Sovereign YAHUEH’s Lamb and Apparent to the throne (Psalm 2:12).
Yeshua – Omits the Supreme’s name (Rev 14:1) – there is no Messiah (Truth/Deliverance/Immortality) without the Messiah’s Head (Pro 30:4).
Come out of the Whore’s lies and deception (Rev 18:4).
YAHUSHA (YAHU saves) – the Savior’s given name.
Like Messiah YAHUSHA of Natsaret, Sovereign YAHUEH has only one name, though many titles.
Love, Light, Laughter, and Prosperity…
Correct. We live in the age of the Eli-Yah message. “Je-zu Baal”. The word “God” is a counterfeit
The second coming will not happen untill the man of sin is revealed. Satan is a biblical plagiarist. –one of the names of blasphemy.
The Age of EliYAH – the age of restoration of all (Matt 17:11).
Iyze Baal.
Other names of blasphemy: Nimrod; Baal; Bacchus; Tammuz; EA Zeus; Ishtar; MA Rhea.
The first resurrection – Messiah’s harvesting/reaping of the select – occurs three-and-a-half years after the revealing of the lawless one (anti-Messiah; Whore of Babel; bishop of Rome; vicar of Christ, sinful one; wolf of perdition)…
In that case lets be totally true and honest. The word Messiah has been totally misinterpreted. The work comes from the Hebrew Mashiach. Meaning Anointed one. Does not take on the meaning of Saviour etc. In those times when a king was crowned his head was anointed with holy oil, as stated in Davids 23rd PSALM. Even to this day when a king of England is crowned his head is anointed with holy oil. The Israelites were and occupied country, occupied by Rome. The concept of Mashiach was to have their own kingdom, ruled by their own king. A king that was chosen by Yahweh the god of the ancient Israelites. You of course have every right to believe the stories that were decided on by Constantine the emperor of Rhome, or even believe that Moses actually met with the creator of the entire Universe, containing trillions of stars. Or then like me you could realize that it was all made up to CONTROL the people.
The headline definitely caught my attention and I was very interested in your argument, but you lost me at “Saul to Paul”. From that point on, I was skeptical of the whole article.
The Bible never says that God changed his name from Saul to Paul. Saul was his Hebrew name and Paul was his Roman name. Paul chose to use his Roman name because it would open more doors in the Asian world since that is where his mission field was. One could certainly make the argument that Paul was prompted by God to start using Paul instead of Saul, but then we are doing a spiritual backflip and adding to the Scripture if we say that God changed it.
Secondly, With the exception of the few Baptist churches that claim their lineage through John the Baptist (of which there is no historical evidence), the Baptists trace their origins to the Anabaptist, or previously, Anti-Pedo Baptist. They did not believe that a child (Pedo) could earn salvation through baptism, therefore, they were against it. Eventually, they dropped the Pedo because they further believed that no one could earn salvation through baptism. Over time, even the “Ana” was dropped for just Baptist only. What started out as a banner of what they believed, evolved into their name.
I know these seem like minor points, but if one makes an argument this big over truth, then all of the argument should be truth. In love.
Tim
Wrong the whole jesus thing is actually incorrect and his actual name is Yeshua and the day or god is Yawehweh
It is interesting that you state that “Yeshua” is the translated name of Jesus, of which I agree with. However going back to the avaialble hebrew writings you will see that the vowels were never used in thier writings and at some point in time in their history the jewish nation, out of fear stopped using Gods name. With that being said the scribes and pharisees deemed it to be wrong to even pronounce Gods name. So in essence the actual pronouncation of Gods name was lost within that period of jewish superstition. So the reasoning point is this, if the Jews stopped pronouncing Gods name out of superstition why would it be reasonable to even conclude that the name of God would be known or in this case the name of gods first born son. There is an argument to be made in reference to having faith in the desire as well as the power and authority of almighty God to make sure this his will and divine purpose is ultimately fulfilled. Namely in this regard that all people must know and be given the oppurtunity to know that he is the one whom many have denied and that only a few have chosen to exercise and practice his teachings.
Additionally, The name of Jesus not only came from Heaven. It is the father’s name.
this is why it is the (only) name given to man that we can be saved by!
Acts 4:8Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, 9If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole; 10Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Luke 1:26And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, 27To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. 31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. 32He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: 33And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
9Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
10The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
Care, fear and obedience must be the order of the day concerning the Word of God!
Wrong, wrong and wrong again, you allude to the fact that “black” people in the US, and those scattered throughout the world (Trans-Atlantic slave trade), are descendants of the (original Children of Israel. Don’t allude, it is historical and (historical biblical) fact. Don’t be afraid to put it out here and produce those facts!
Secondly, I don’t speak Hebrew and I don’t think you do either. And because what we understand to be Hebrew was submitted to the world by those who the word of God states holds a perpetual hatred towards us, if it is not substantiated by the word of God, it can not be trusted. Which brings us to the name that God told (us) would save us.
Isaiah 28:10For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
11For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
1Cor 14:20Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men. 21In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.
Why? Because Hebrew is a dead language.
And Israel has been scattered throughout the world, we speak different languages. So, because we know God said he’d speak to his priests in another language, the last language he will speak to his priests in is the language of Yiddish, so-called Hebrew.
So, check this out!
Malachi 1: 11For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the LORD of hosts.
Because we (know) that Gentiles are “white” folks, what name of God is great among the Gentiles? It is not Yeshua! It is Jesus.
Amen, Amen, and Amen !!!
This is interesting but if you have read the bible you know the name of the xtian deity told to you in the true 10 commandments (Ex 34: 1-28). Ex 34:14 says “For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God”. There you go…Jealous’ real name stated in the only list of commandments named as “The Ten Commandments” by Jealous himself. Ex 34: 28 “And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.”
God is both jealous and forgiving.
You are not a linguist. There are four Hebrew Scripts for scriptures. Mosiac-Hieroglyphic, Paleo, Aramaic, Masoretic Hebrew. The older Hebrew languages are dead languages. The last script used is Masoretic Hebrew which uses vowels and niqqud vowel points. In the time of Christ, the people spoke and wrote in Aramaic and Kione Greek. Only the religious leaders used Masoretic script for writing. At that time his Aramaic name was Eashoa and in Kione Greek ?????? (I?sous).
Have you Googled the name of Christ in all languages? To think that the Creator does not understand varying languages names for Christ is truly misguided. If you are Hebrew, then it would be proper for one to use the Modern Hebrew name for Christ. But that would be true for any people groups languages. Be Blessed.
Christ is not a name. Greek word Christos. Means Saviour.
Sir to put it mild, you are nuts and uneducated. First and foremost Catholics are every bit Christian. Second, if you follow the history of the church, the Catholic church preceded all non catholic churches and stems directly from the people of the Way. The name Jesus is a translation from the Latin which was translated from the Greek and comes from the translation of Hebrew to Greek in the same way that Yeshua is translated to many different languages. It does not in any way dilute the nature of The Son Of God. If it did so, we should throw away all translations and only use the Hebrew text which then means we would not have a New Testament since it is in greek. Finally in Acts 13:9 it says Saul was also called Paul, the Greek version of Saul. God didn’t change his name, the Greek language changed it.
Al Genna, Th.D
To dismiss the author as “nuts and uneducated”, combined with the “Th.D” after your name, leads me to think you may not be open to viewing alternative hypotheses through a lens of critical and unbiased thinking.
For example, you stated “…if you follow the history of the church, the Catholic church preceded all non catholic churches and stems directly from the people of the Way.” That statement is factually incorrect. Latter-day Saints are Christians. They openly profess they are not descendant from any previous form of Christianity since all were in a state of apostasy with the death of the last Apostle. Of course, if you do not recognize the LDS church as a Christian faith, then I would have to question your definition of Christianity, which goes back to my first point.
You also conveniently ignored the author’s comments about the Europeanization of Christ’s image. There are many divergent explanations for this, some of which support the author’s perspective. Would you argue that portraying Jesus as a white man (which He most certainly was not) is perfectly acceptable?
I would wager that Jesus would not recognize any of today’s churches as His.
He’s right if saying something in a different language is counted as inaccurate or invalid then what would be the point in translating the bible for all to interpret?
The English Name “Jesus” derives from the Latin name “Iesus,” which is transliterated from the Koine Greek name ?????? (I?sous), which is transliterated from the Hebrew name Yeshua. There is evidence that the Gospel of Matthew was first written in the Hebrew language. Jesus was a Hebrew. In the Hebrew Language His name is Yeshua.
Yeshua was a common shortened form of the name Yehoshua in the later books of the Hebrew Bible, (1 & 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Haggai, Zechariah), and among the Jews of the Second Temple period (538 B.C.E – 70 C.E.). Verses with the name Yehoshua in these Old Testament Books were transliterated into English as Joshua.
Two notable men in the Old Testament with the name “Yehoshua” (Yeshua/Joshua) are; Joshua the son of Nun, and Joshua the High Priest. It is interesting to note that these two men, in the positions of leadership that they officiated in, foretold a truth (a Typology) of the Person and Ministry of Jesus (Yeshua).
Joshua (Yeshua), the son of Nun, was the “captain” of the Armies of Israel who lead them into victorious battles (salvation) against their enemies in gaining their inheritance in the “Promised Land.” Joshua (Yeshua), the high priest, functioned in the office of the priesthood during the early Second Temple period.
The Typologies reveal the truth that (1) Jesus is the “Captain” of our Salvation, and (2) that He is our “High Priest” (whoever makes intercession for us to the Father).
I do not attempt to minimize usage of the Name of Jesus, but if we are to call Biblical objects or persons by their Biblical names then His Name is Yeshua. Therefore, concerning Jesus of Nazareth I will refer to Him as Yeshua to observe Biblical and Historical accuracy. Also, Christ is not a name, but a title. Nor is it the last name of Yeshua. But, If you call Him Jesus in the Latin, or Greek, or English language you are talking about Yeshua.
It is more important to “know” Yeshua as your personal Savior, than to know the correct language to use to call upon Him!
Also, and most importantly, to those out there who believe and teach that Yeshua was a black man are in gross error. You have not done your ‘biblical or historical homework’ on the origins of the various Races since the time of the Flood. and Noah and his three sons, Ham, Shem, and Japheth, and their generations.
The answer to the question concerning whether Yeshua was a black man, or a white man, is established in the Genesis Account of the Flood and the disbursement of the sons of Noah to the various regions of the then known world.
Yeshua was not from black Race, nor was He from the white Race! It is biblically, and historically, proven that the sons of Noah were the ‘fathers’ of the distinct Races that later populated the earth after the Flood.
Genesis chapter Ten lists the geographic locations of the sons of Noah, and their sons, and where they traveled to and inhabited. The last verse in Chapter Ten reads.
“These are the families of the son of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these where the nations divided in the earth after the flood” Genesis 10: 32.
Read the entire Chapter and study the names given. Get educated.
The region that Japheth, and his sons settled in is established by the meaning of their names. Same with Ham. Same with Shem.
Japheth is the ‘father of the white Europeans. Notice his son’s names and what they reveal.
Ham, and his sons, is the ‘father’ of the Black Africans and Black Ethiopian peoples. Notice his son’s names and what they reveal.
To teach that the Ethiopians are from the lost 10 tribes of Israel is in gross error. To be from one of the lost ten tribes of Israel you have to be of the linage of Shem.
Shem, and his sons, is the ‘father’ of the Arabians (Ishamel), Assyrians, Moabites and Ammonites (Esau), Hebrews (Abraham), etc.
From 1780 up until recently as 2019 three classifications for the Races were used to identify he peoples of the earth. They were listed as; Caucasoid, Mongoloid, and Negroid (Ethiopian).
Yeshua is biblically identified as emerging from the linage of Shem (mongoloid) and therefore is neither a black man, or a white man, but is a Shemite. The book of Matthew, 1st chapter, lists the linage of Yeshua. The names of Japheth or Ham are not listed.
Shem is listed, who is the Ancestor of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Judah, David, Yeshua.
Biblical Conclusion. Yeshua is clearly NOT from the linage of Ham (Black peoples), nor was He from the linage of Japheth (White peoples)! Yeshua was a Hebrew and clearly, from the Biblical Text, of the linage of Shem.
To teach that Yeshua was a black man is biblically wrong. Likewise, to teach that Yeshua was a white man is biblically wrong. To portray Him as a Red haired, long haired, blued eyed,
white skinned looking Irishman is biblically wrong.
Yeshua was a Hebrew, olive skin in color, black eyes, and black bushy hair. A typical looking Hebrew man of those days.
The first Christian Church was not the Catholic Church. The Costics who still are around were the first organized Christians. The Catholic church is actually a combination of the Aincient Greek and Roman gods, with a sorta blend with Judaism. They kept all the Statues (Not allowed by the 10 Commandments) and added a Saviour to satisfy both the Christians and the followers of the Roman Gods.
i am a white 84 year old catholic woman. i have believed in GOD and HIS SON JESUS all of my life. what i have learned over the years is that there is ONE GOD.. HE is good and HE is there for all of us. not all of his people speak english, but HE understands all languages and responds to all names. he also doesn’t care about the color of your skin.
It’s all mythology and it’s killing us.
I may be mistaken or stand to be corrected. Did he not say “Call me by my name”
The bible also warns us not to be a stumbling block to others. Your obsessive determination to correctly name the Messiah is disconcerting. There is only one true God. We are to worship Him in spirit and in truth. Jehovah, Emmanuel, Lord of Lords, King of Kings, Jeshua or even Jesus ….. the Great I AM knows the intent of our hearts. There is enough division in the collective churches already. So, please stop trying to further divide them. God is no respecter of persons. We are all vile and sinful creatures. Let us all call on the one true God before it is too late. Blessings!
That’s what my heart tells me, and my heart is the well of my soul, a vessel, a jar of clay, chipped, broken, re-pieced back together, with leaks and cracks. A container. We are born with that container; empty and dead. A container is only as valuable as its contents. If those contents are Jesus (OK, Yeshua) it cannot contain All of Him so some must leak out and shine thru the cracks so others can see Him and make Him the Lord of their existence. If His Existence is my existence, then only in Him am I righteous and Perfect. He created us so He could do for us and be there for us in a broken world. We can’t do it by ourselves. Hence the Cross. (By the way, I enjoyed the etymology of His Name and found it interesting. He’s still the same Messiah)
Jesus is the word of God made flesh. Those religious utterances such as Yeshua, and Jesus refer more to reverential human sounds that recall great fear and awe of God the creator who spoke all things into existence.
Thorough our lord and savior Jesus Christ you may be saved from a lifetime of sin in the twinkling of an eye.
God is proactive from the beginning of time until this very moment and he told Moses, an intellectual Egyptian Prince, his name. In Exodus 3:14 of the King James Version of the Holy Bible God said to Moses ” I Am That I Am: and he also said “Thus Shalt Thou Say unto The Children of Israel, I Am Hath Sent Me Unto You. “I do not know just how many times these words have been translated from various linguistic tongues over the centuries, but I suspect that the meanings of words have varied according to their translations by differing languages. In this day and time, I translate their meanings in English the word ” I “is a pronoun, first person singular and means ” one who is speaking. ” The word ” Am ” is a verb, first person singular, and means ” to exist or to be. “The word ” That ” is a pronoun, first person singular, and means ” is used to identify a specific person or thing observed by the speaker. “God’s name as he gave it adds great transcendent time and space dimensions that are higher than those within which human nomenclature are usually given according to religious dogmas, rites and rituals especially the concept of Christian reincarnation. God gave his name as a mixture of pronoun and verb that transcend a human proper name which is a noun such as the name Peter, Paul, Thomas etc. God spoke to Moses in such a way as to make clear the fact that God is not a human being, but is the creator of all human beings, that there is to know by human beings, and all other creatures in the universe, and that there is none that is real, meaning unchanging, but God. Knowledge of God’s name (i.e., that which we know as our five senses known reality) serves to deflate the human ego, and put all human beings in a better mental disposition to accept their limited mortality.
It’s about time someone printed the truth.
What is truth ?

It is important to know the truth like it or not. It is important to call a person by their given name, like or not.
God doesn’t have ” a given name. “
Question: Does “The Jesus”, or the Son of Man or God, or Second Person of a mystical trinitarian relationship really care what He/They/Her is called?
When I pray to The Jesus (my gentile approach) actually has me phrasing my prayers with the salutation: “Hey Zeus!” (just like the hispanic pronunciation)…
Sorta an inside joke for my interaction with the Lord and Savior…JC, whether Hebraic, Greek, Latin, English or whatever “Name” one would identify as The Lamb or The Messiah, or the Son of God. I do not sense any hint of displeasure in what His creatures call Him…but He does get a bit upset about how He is misrepresented by those that claim to know him…no matter what name they proclaim…
Gentile blasphemy.
uhm…oh well, my bad i guess…
however, after giving your retort about as much credit as your convoluted wacky theological notions suggest, i have changed the tone of my praying…
now i address The Son of God as: Jew-zus.
yup…a slight re-emphasis on the pronunciation and voila! the Messianic element is now properly acknowledged!
