(ThyBlackMan.com) From the Duke lacrosse incident to Jussie Smollett and so many other fake incidents in between, they were especially unwise, being African-Americans, to try and fool law enforcement. We saw what happened to Michael Vick and he was not even at home when the dog fights occurred. We saw what happened to O.J. Simpson when he was dumb enough to fall into a trap while trying to get his own possessions back. We see where Bill Cosby had to go. And yet people of color keep playing games with their own freedom, the law, law enforcement and courts anyway.

In this day and time when the courts are locking up Caucasian lawyers, billionaires and former congressmen like flies, it is a very bad time to commit a crime and get caught up in the system “black” man. Then there are those who are most foolish of all such as R. Kelly who kept all the evidence the courts will need in order to crucify him. It’s already foolish to commit a crime then try and fool the police Jussie ‘Not Too Bright” Smollett. But it is even worse to help them put you away.

IS ANYBODY OUT THERE LEARNING A LESSSON FROM STUPIDITY?

As a former detective I have to say they have technology the public has no idea about. I won’t go in detail but advanced surveillance to chemicals that uncover blood you can’t even see, facial recognition software to turning on your cell phone camera without your knowledge, you are watched and heard more than you know. And that is just scratching the surface. Yet again and again too many African-Americans somehow think they can run game, scams and cons and yet never get caught. Wrong. And in 2019, big brother, big sister and the whole big family is watching you from Face book to Google, your car computer to your GPS, your cell phone to your television.

MOST OF THE PEOPLE IN PRISON DIDN’T THINK THEY WOULD GET CAUGHT

Let’s use Jussie Smollett as an example of what not to do. I knew he was lying from the beginning and it was far too easy for me as one person to tell. They assigned 12 detectives to his alleged attack and somehow he thought he could fool everybody. Innocent until proven guilty? The presumption of innocence only applies in a court of law – and it is doubtful for a man of color if it ever applies at all, anywhere, anytime.

Jussie did almost everything wrong except make a taped confession. He stayed in communication with the two men he hired both before and after the incident. He picked men who had acted as extras on the set of Empire. He paid them with a check. Really Jussie? He gave them a ride. He gave them money to buy a rope, bleach etc and they were caught on store surveillance. He trusted them not to tell. He gave conflicting stories. He brought the incident to the media when he couldn’t even stick to one consistent story or pattern of lies. Jussie is lucky the two men he hired didn’t take the money and do nothing. Or lie about how much he gave them. If they had said he gave them $100 each, what could he have said? And the dumb dumb list goes on and on.

Yes the police are understaffed. But believe this, if they make you their focus, they can catch you anytime they choose to or anytime someone pressures them to. They can call in support from other jurisdictions. They have forensic crime labs. They know how to locate and squeeze witnesses. They know how to follow paper trails or acquire the surveillance footage from where ever they need to – business or residential. And they have the means and resources never even contemplated by the average citizen.

So value your freedom and spread the word to all the scammers, con men and women, gang members, petty thieves, snatch and grabbers, home invaders, car- jackers, drug dealers, pimps, prostitutes and other criminals of every time – including white collar. America has no problem with having the largest incarceration rate of any advanced country in the world even close to our size.

The American judicial system has no problem locking you up if you fall into the trap, meet the profile or commit the crime – guilty or not. Today the plantations of old are now called jails and prisons. And the auction block has changed its name to the court system. Tell our youth this system that needs to be fed like a blood-thirsty maniac carnivore has no problem with digesting them whole – their lives, their dreams and their future. Tell them there are better ways to reach their potential and acquire the things they want. Tell them and keep telling them.
