(ThyBlackMan.com) Google will launch the Pixel 3 in October this year and it looks like we will quickly learn everything about its specs and features. Soon after the Google I/O 2018, new details started trickling in. In the latest Google Pixel 3 news updates, we got new information about the upcoming phone. We have sifted through the newest information in an effort to identify the most reliable and believable Pixel 3 specs and features details.

It will support wireless charging

The Google Pixel 3 will support wireless charging. The details were found in the latest version of Android P beta. With that being said, some leaked images show a mirror-like material on the back of the new phone. If the material is not metal but glass, the Pixel 3 phone will use wireless charging technology. The Android beta codes reveal a service called “Dreamliner” which is said to be associated with the battery and wireless charging functionality.

Foxconn is making Pixel phones

For the first time, Google and Foxconn are coming together to build smartphones. A report by Bloomberg says that Google has discussed its plans with Foxconn and the duo will likely build the Pixel 3 phone together. It is the same company that assembles iPhones for Apple.

A design update

Leaked images of the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are doing rounds on the internet. Recently, some leaked Google Pixel 3 XL images confirmed a single camera on the smartphone’s back. It seems that Google doesn’t want to jump on the dual camera module with its next flagship phones, but there’s something new happening this time.

The Pixel 3 XL is said to have two front-facing cameras. In the leaked images, a dual camera setup is visible on the Pixel 3 XL images but the smaller variant will feature a single camera on the front.

The Pixel series phones are known for the superior quality images they produce. If Google decides to follow traditional way, it won’t disappoint. As far as the display is concerned, Google will follow the notch trend with the new Pixel XL smartphone and maintain the Pixel 3 display without the cutout. We don’t expect the sides and back design of the new phones to be any different from the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. The last year’s phones look beautiful and don’t need a design overhaul.

The effort to cram in some extra screen real estate will pay off for two reasons – the phone will use a universally welcomed feature, and with the Android P, this feature won’t remain a gimmick. If you don’t know, Google has made some major changes in the notification area on Android P. You can read the details here. The notch trend got boost with Andy Rubin’s Essential Phone and later Apple made it popular through the iPhone X.

Pixel 3 Specifications & Features

Google is silent on its plans for the new Pixel 3 series phones. But nothing can stop early reports and speculations. On the hardware front, the smartphone will include Snapdragon 845 processor which is available on many powerful smartphones including the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ phones. In the last year’s Pixel phones, Google offered 4GB of RAM with 64GB and 128GB storage options. This year, when Samsung has raised the bar with 6GB RAM on the S9+, we hope Google will do the same and offer 6GB RAM with the Pixel 3 XL.

One of the biggest advantages Google has is the HTC unit it acquired. HTC is known for doing things differently, particularly in the speaker area. Right now nothing is promised, but some reports suggest that the Pixel 3 will sport front-facing speakers. We don’t know how the company will manage this change with bezel-less display and a notch, but if it happens, we can expect great music listening experience from the Pixel 3 phone.

Google launched its first Pixel and Pixel XL phones on October 4, 2016, and Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL on the same date in 2017. There seems no reason to change the pattern so we assume that this year’s Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will arrive on October 4.
