(ThyBlackMan.com) Nintendo this week unveiled the Mini SNES Classic officially known as, Super NES Classic Edition. The console is similar to the NES Mini, but it is a slimmed down version of the original console. The SNES Classic Mini will bring plenty of pre-installed games, and it supports HDTVs. The device is scheduled to arrive in September and will retail at a price tag of around US$79.99.
Mini SNES Classic Release Date
Nintendo has discontinued the NES Mini soon after keeping it in market for just a few months. Now, the company is aiming to bring two devices later this year. The first one is Nintendo 2DS XL which is scheduled to arrive on July 28 and it promises to give consumers one more hand-held console option. The second one is the SNES Classic Mini coming on September 29 this year.
Mini SNES Classic Pre Order
Many people struggled to get NES Mini and before the console reached them, Nintendo signed the device’s death warrant. Nintendo has not confirmed whether it will support the SNES Classic mini production in 2018 or not. The company was very less concerned about the previous console’s scarcity, so now when the pre-orders for the new console are already sold out, it seems that the holiday season will bring a lot of disappointment to Nintendo fans. What could be worse than the fact that scalpers started selling their reserved spots for higher price than the console’s retail price? But since the console’s launch is still at a fair distance, all hope is not lost, of course. And even if you will not be able to get SNES Classic mini console, thankfully, there are plenty of SNES games which you can play on other devices.
Mini SNES Classic Games
The SNES Classic Mini comes preloaded with 21 games. Some of these titles include the classics like Contra III: The Alien Wars, Final Fantasy III, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting and many more from the Mario franchise including the Super Mario Kart and Super Mario World.
Nintendo has kept many of its games away from mobile phones and this is one of the strongest reasons why fans are compelled to relive their 90’s memories by investing into a new, smaller console. Some of the games Nintendo is bringing will undoubtedly take massive amount to time to complete. There’s no doubt that a total of 21 classic games in the SNES Mini will surely offer many hours of gameplay. The role-playing games alone are enough to provide you with an immersive multiplayer gaming experience as the console ships with two controllers. With the new version of the original console, Star Fox 2 will be something fresh for players as the game is releasing for the first time. The catch here is that the players will be required to complete at least the first level of the original Star Fox game to unlock this new content.
The console is not coming anytime soon, at least not before the last week of September, but if you are planning to buy the console, it is better you pre order the Mini SNES Classic through any reputable retailer online. Many retailers have already started accepting pre orders and there are chances that many of them will come up with discounts and various SNES Mini deals will likely appear in the coming days. The pre orders are sold out in many places, so it is better you keep checking the availability at several online stores to make sure that you get the product.
Technically, there are no significant changes have been made in the new console, and with the package, you will get the device along with its two controllers, one HDMI cable and an adapter with USB cable for charging. Overall, shelling out US$79.99 is not a bad deal unless you own Nintendo’s other consoles where most of these games are available.
