(ThyBlackMan.com) The Snapdragon 835 chipset makes the OnePlus 5 a powerful phone. This is the best time to review the phone’s performance, as it is not the only smartphone running on the 835 processor by Qualcomm. There are several phones from leading manufacturers such as Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi and LG, which are the most powerful phones currently available. But when it comes to reviewing the OnePlus 5 performance, there’s so much more we are going to do here.

The smartphone comes in two different memory options for both internal storage capacity and RAM. The 6GB variant comes with 64GB storage and there’s one 8GB RAM variant that comes with 128GB internal memory. Although the storage capacity and RAM is fair enough and the similar configuration can be seen in many other smartphones in the same range as well, but what makes the OP 5 a better choice is the use of LPDDR4X RAM over the LPDDR4 that makes the device more efficient.

When compared to its competitors, the OnePlus 5 gets excellent score in several benchmark tests. Thanks to its powerful processor, CPU and GPU that make it a beast. With the smartphone, you get a dual camera setup that fairly performs. The primary camera, on the other hand takes great pictures and that too in different scenes.

The 5.5-inch AMOLED display is good, but you can’t say that it’s perfect in this price range because many of its competitor are much better in terms of display and image quality. You won’t be able to enjoy the phone under the sun to an extent where many of its competitors are providing better screen brightness.

With the OP 5, the manufacturer has taken a major leap forward by improving the battery life of the phone. The performance of its battery is better than its predecessor, but nothing groundbreaking is found when tested the battery life during voice calls and standby mode. Of course, it’s the processor that is responsible for energy consumption here.

The OnePlus 5 comes with OxygenOS, the company’s operating system with unique and useful features with stock Android style. The performance is undoubtedly top-class since 8GB RAM and Snapdragon 835 are there. The presence of cutting edge hardware make the OP 5 perform better than many high-end devices in several benchmark tests. Other than the technical stuff, as a user, when you take the phone in hand, you can feel that the operation is very smooth and the phone has everything you can think of a smartphone is capable of doing.

The OP 5 is really powerful and the phone is capable of doing so much. With plenty of features, thanks to stock Android vibe, the phone can be used in many meaningful ways. The screen size and water-proofing may work against it, but OP 5 is clearly a very affordable option than the Galaxy series phones and Apple’s iPhones.

OnePlus has never launched any phone more expensive than the OnePlus 5, but it doesn’t mean that the latest phone is overpriced. Given its specifications and features, the phone can be considered a value for money deal.

In the last two years, a majority of smartphone manufacturers have raised the price, which is undoubtedly a result of high end hardware, so taking the OP 5 price in account, it is still an affordable phone, but yes, you cannot say that it’s a budget phone.

The only major drawbacks of the phone are lack of stereo speakers and the absence of the microSD card slot. The phone also doesn’t come with water-proofing capabilities and it is not even splash resistant. Other than these points, the phone appears to be a great choice on many fronts and is capable to do almost everything you can expect from a smartphone today.
