(ThyBlackMan.com) I know that for a lot of young black millenials, college can be a place where you can learn and develop as a student. College can also be a place where you can learn your true history and ancestry in black studies.
Intro: Here are several reasons why I never went to college
1. The Student Loan Debt – According to studentloanhero.com, the student loan debt has now reached $1.3 trillion dollars and is expected to increase because many of them are basically paying the illusion of tuition which means a class cost $50,000 a year to take and you pay for it, but you don’t get the job you really wanted.
2. Increased Tuition Prices – Tuition over the past 15 years has greatly skyrocketed to the point of young people not even having the money to even get a real decent education while in college. At The University Of Alabama and Auburn University where they live, breathe, and worship football 24/7/365, the tuition for out of state students is $40,000 a year and the increased tuition prices are the result of unregulated capitalism.
3. Commitment For Financial Greed Through The Athletic Department At These Big Universities – In addition to the increased tuition prices, the big universities also exploit not only students, but particularly black athletes that bring in millions of dollars in athletic and marketing value each year to these big universities and the idea of not compensating them and giving them labor rights is very sick and egregious.
4. The Negative Aspects Of College Life Being Encouraged By Plenty Of Young Kids Who Are Only Interested In “Turning Up” Every Weekend – But college unfortunately nowadays has become a place that promotes and glorifies the destructive side of it with the alcohol and drugs as well as rapes and hazing occurring on college campuses across the country. And then on top of that, this destructive side is often encouraged by young folks who only wanna “turn up” and stay high and drunk on campus.
5. The bureaucracy – Many of these universities are very bureaucratic when it comes to many things like hiring professors for certain departments, adopting new methods of learning like through technology, etc.
6. Stripping Of Athletes’ Rights – Athletes are stripped of their labor rights as well as the right and ability to be properly educated on the campus because the bigots at those universities buy into this huge myth that’s being force fed to many young black men that “If I can throw a football or dribble a basketball, I never have to learn how to read“, so that’s why they deliberately mis educate them by putting them in shadow classes and passing them through without pushing them to study.
The Conclusion – If your child desires to go to college, sit down with your child and tell them the pros and cons of college life and also teach them how to start his own businesses while in college so they can have other options just in case they can’t get the job they wanted.
