(ThyBlackMan.com) “I know when that Hotling Bling…” That’s my jam right there. I have it as my ring tone. So, when I hear my phone start singing… “I know it can only mean one thing”….And, then I remember Drake’s song… “Look What You’ve Done for Me….” That’s a deep song. He was expressing his sensitivity and gratitude toward his mother and his uncle for stepping up, after his daddy dipped out on the family. I haven’t heard someone show that type of heartfelt love since Tupac recorded Dear Mama.
I underestimated Drake, too. I thought when he bumped heads with Meek Mills, I honestly thought Kill-a-delphia Meek was gonna destroy the singing rapper. Man, I’ve had never been so wrong. But, I think I’m correct when I say that Mr. Wrong came out on the right side of that battle. You would’ve thought that Meek inhaled some ETHER, and subsequently lost his voice.
I’ve heard some Drake NAY-SAYERS gripe about him not being one of the best because he hasn’t proven any longevity as of yet. Well, neither has Biggie Smalls. Outside of two albums and few mix joints, the Brooklyn brother’s resume is kind of short lived. I mean, we can IF all day long….but numbers don’t lie.
Now if we are gonna judge people fairly and like Jay-Z say, “Beyond any reasonable doubt,” then Drake is headed for Hip-Hop royalty, like it or not!
“That’s bullshit! Drake don’t even write all his rhymes?” 
“A lot of rappers and singers don’t write all their stuff. Y’all just jealous ’cause he’s a light-skinned cutie who can sing, rap, and act better than any other artist and/or artists.”
“Are you saying that Tupac would still be one of the greatest rappers if you found out that he DIDN’T WRITE his rhymes?”
“I didn’t say that.”
“Are you saying that Jay-Z would still be one of the best if he DIDN’T WRITE his rhymes?”
“I didn’t say that, either.”
“Are you saying that Nas would still be your dude if you found out that he DIDN’T WRITE ETHER?”
“That’s not what I said.”
“Well, are you saying Biggie would still be the truth, if you found out that he DIDN’T WRITE Ready to Die?
“You’re taking words out my mouth.”
“Well, make yourself perfectly and crystal clear because where I come from if you ain’t writing your rhymes, it’s called LIP SYNCING at best…and BITING at worst. And if the top five, dead or alive, couldn’t do it….then Drake can’t either. So, what the fuck are you saying?”
A slight pause.
“Well, I ain’t really saying nothing….because when you put it that way, whatever I was going to say would not be good for Hip-Hop…its history or its future.”
