(ThyBlackMan.com) You could easily argue that Park City, Utah was tailor-made for the winter, with the stunning mountainous terrain providing excellent skiing and some great accommodation, dining and entertainment options to make your après-ski time enjoyable.

Park City has a host of attractions and opportunities to entertain all ages and interests, so here is a look at what awaits you beyond the snow and ice on the slopes.

Head for the Wasatch Mountains

If you prefer your winter scenery to pass by you a little slower than if you are on a set of skis, you might want to consider strapping on a pair of snowshoes and heading for the Wasatch Mountains.

There are an abundance of photo opportunities along the way as you take a guided snowshoe tour, which will help you to get the most out of your experience.2015-lodging-hotels-rentals-park-city-utah-ski-lodging

Plenty of smiles when you go tubing

Another great outdoor activity away from the skiing that is well worth considering, is tubing.

Park City Snow Tubing is the venue for some serious family fun and because snow tubing is suitable for all ages, everyone can get involved and have a great ride down the longest tubing lanes in Utah.

The Snow Tubing experience takes you to Solider Hollow, which is where the 2002 Winter Olympics Nordic events were held, and with a full lift service to transport you to the top, you will have plenty of energy for the 1,200 foot slide ahead of you.

Snowmobile adventure

There are several snowmobile adventures to choose from and if you are looking for Utah’s highest views and some huge powder-filled bowls to explore, Thousand Peaks fits the bill.

The Trip Advisor ratings for Thousand Peaks are high and there are plenty of comments from satisfied customers who have commented on the spectacular scenery and the awesome fun that seems to be on offer for those that decide to fire up a snowmobile and head for the mountains.

See the stars in detail

Away from the slopes, if you are looking for something to entertain the kids with that you will also enjoy doing too, a visit to the Clark Planetarium would be a good move.

The planetarium is conveniently located in downtown Salt Lake City and you get chance to see the stars and some fascinating aspects of our solar system in high-quality 3D IMAX. There are also some free exhibits and plenty to keep the entertainment levels up during your visit.

Culture at the Capitol

If you are looking an iconic building that is a testament to the cultural heritage of Salt Lake City and a center of culture, the Capitol Theatre would be the number one choice for many.

The building was lovingly restored to its former glory back in 1978 and as well as being able to appreciate the distinctive elegance of the early 1900’s architecture you can also take the opportunity for some culture, when Ballet West or Utah Opera are performing.

Park City is understandably a popular venue for ski enthusiasts but Utah also has a lot more to offer beyond the snow and ice.
