(ThyBlackMan.com) Apple iMac Pro is coming soon and the company has confirmed that it will be focused more on the specific requirements of professional users. Apple recently called journalists and revealed that the company is currently working on a new iMac Pro. Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Phil Schiller told journalists that the new product is being designed keeping the pro customers in mind.

Several publications brought the information from the Cupertino based company. In his statement, Schiller said “We have big plans for the iMac. We’re going to begin making configurations of iMac specifically with the pro customer in mind,” BuzzFeed quotes.

Without revealing any specific details about these configurations, Apple made it very clear that it has realized the need of professionals. A large number of professionals including developers and designers use Apple’s desktops. Now when the arrival of the iMac Pro is confirmed, here’s what the company has officially revealed so far.

Features

Many of the Apple iMac Pro features are still under wrap. Apple usually doesn’t speak about the upcoming products, but surprisingly the company has made this pre-release announcement this time. When Apple says it will focus on the needs of professionals, it means that the majority of focus will be storage and performance.

It is obvious that this time, the company will be implementing the lessons learned from the controversial MacBook Pro release. Without going into specifics, Schiller confirmed that touch functionality will be absent from the iMac Pro.

Specifications

The current user base for iMac is in different categories and according to Apple, the specifications offered by the existing machines do not fulfill the needs of a wide array of professional users. According to Schiller, 15 percent of Mac users use professional applications many times in week. The company also says that the user base is huge and what Apple is trying to do is to bring as many professionals as possible on Apple iMac Pro.

Apple says that it is reaching close to the 100 million Mac user base. The company admits that it didn’t appreciate the design much and now Apple feels that the available iMac designs do not match with the company’s vision for the future. The machines at present do not have the capabilities to cover the audience Apple aims to bring in.

When asked about the expected changes, Apple confirmed that the changes are not just limited to design or architecture only. Without highlighting any specific aspects, the company said that it will be a complete overhaul.

“With regards to the Mac Pro, we are in the process of what we call ‘completely rethinking the Mac Pro,” said Schiller, during the roundtable conversation as reported by Tech Crunch.

With the advent of iMac desktops, the Mac user base is growing. According to the company, it ships the notebooks and desktops computers at the ratio of 80:20. The company also said that it has witnessed growth in the MacBook Pro sales in the first quarter of the financial year. Apple considers Mac as a huge part of the company’s future and so much is invested into Mac.

Release Date

Apple has not shared any official statement regarding the Apple iMac Pro release date. As usual, the rumors are circulating the next iMac Pro, and it is being said that the company will launch it sometime around October this year. On the other hand, there are reports that the product is not going to arrive before 2018.

Apple has only said that they are working on the product which will definitely require time as the company aims to rebuild the entire structure to cater to the needs of wide ranging professionals around the world. The company also expects the Apple iMac Pro release not to happen anytime soon. So, without any official words, it is better you take the rumors with a pinch of salt.
