(ThyBlackMan.com) If Joe Biden and Kamala Harris think the issues of Black American unemployment and economic immigration are going to go away, as the November presidential election approaches, they are sadly mistaken. It is no secret, Black American workers are the first workers laid off, when the economy declines, as it is doing now. Black Americans, who are experiencing a Great Recession with a Real unemployment Job rate of 10.1%, saw that rate hold steady, in May, based on the Bureau of Labor Statistics Job Situation Report (BLS).
There is no question the economy is going to be the number one issue in the first presidential debate, which will be hosted by CNN in Atlanta on Thursday, June 27th. The question is, which economy will be debated? We have the Biden economy, which has an unemployment rate as stated by the Biden-Harris administration of 4.0% for May, and the real economy which has a 7.4% unemployment rate, and a Black American Jobless rate of 10.1%, as the black rate of unemployment averages 2.7% higher over the real unemployment rate.
In 1994, economists concluded the U-6 category rate of unemployed workers is the most comprehensive measurement of our monthly unemployment situation. That rate is 7.4% for May, and not Biden’s political rate of 4.0%. The Chart of Alternative Measurements of Unemployment with all the categories can be seen at this link, https://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.t15.htm. The report about the changes to our unemployment rates can be seen at the following link. Page 24 is, where economists state U-6 is the most comprehensive rate which the Biden-Harris administration has ignored year after year, and month after month: https://www.bls.gov/opub/mlr/1995/10/art3full.pdf.
So, our nation has dueling unemployment rates, similar to two sets of accounting books. The Biden-Harris administration narrative reflects a full employment economy at 4.0% unemployment. They are in essence stating 96% of America’s estimated workforce of 168,000,000 is fully employed, that Black Americans are not in a Great Recession.
If that is the case, how then, does President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris account for his economic team, stating the following about his use of the U-3 category rate of unemployment, as Biden continually says, it is comprehensive of our unemployment situation, when it is not?
Janet Yellen, President Biden’s Secretary of the Treasury, on February 18, 2021, in an interview on CNBC, commenting on the nation’s January unemployment rate said, “We have an unemployment rate that if properly measured in some sense, is really close to 10%.” The U-3 category rate, Biden’s official jobless rate, for the month of January flashed 6.3%, while the most comprehensive, and real unemployment rate, U-6 was 11.1%.
Lael Brainard, the former Vice Chair of the Federal Reserve, and President Joe Biden’s current Director of his National Economic Council, stated in an article on February 24, 2021 in the Wall Street Journal the following: “When we take into consideration the more than 4 million workers who have left the labor force since the pandemic started, as well as misclassification, the unemployment rate is close to 10 percent currently—much higher than (Biden’s) headline unemployment rate of 6.3 percent.”
Biden’s former Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers, Dr. Cecilia Rouse, on April 2, 2021, on the White House web site, stated, she felt the March unemployment rate was around 9 %, rather than the 6% official unemployment rate Biden was touting. The real unemployment rate, the U-6 category rate, clocked in at 10.7%.
Jerome Powell, the Chairman of the Federal Reserve at the Federal Reserve Open Market Committee news conference on January 27, 2021, said, “The real unemployment rate is close to 10 percent (for December) if you include people that have left the labor force.” At that time, the U-3 official rate was 6.7%, and the U-6 rate was 11.7%.
Millions of Black American workers, indeed all-American workers are going to lose ground economically as a result of our 3rd Economic Downturn in 16 years, as has been the case in the past, which equates to setbacks in working careers, the loss of accumulated wealth in terms of homes, cars and savings, as layoffs begin to take their toll. Requiring clarity when it comes to our unemployment rates is essential to determining what economic policies need to be adopted. That can be accomplished, as BLMGNF holds the key to an “out of the box” solution.
Cicley Gay, the chair of Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation (BLMGNF), stated in the May 30th edition of the web magazine, Non-Profit Quarterly, (spring 2024 edition), which covers topics of racial equity, the following:
“There is nothing uncomplicated about being a nonprofit leader—let alone a Black woman nonprofit leader, and a Black woman nonprofit leader of the largest Black abolitionist philanthropic organization ever to exist in the United States.”
(BLMGNF has under its control an estimated $30 million – click on the article at the link for more information. https://thyblackman.com/2024/04/07/cicley-gay-and-blmgnf-fact-check-joe-bidens-3-8-march-unemployment-rate-as-the-real-rate-hits-7-3-the-african-american-rate-10-0/)
She further states, “To this day, my fellow board members and I are still dealing with personal and professional tolls—from accusations of financial impropriety to attacks on our character, our competency, and our commitment to the cause and work of the global movement for Black lives.”.… It is an honor to wake up every morning and devote my days to the important, values-aligned work that I am called to. It is a privilege to fight for Black communities and families, mothers and children.”
The Biden-Harris administration is counting on the “TRUTH about the scam” of undercounting our unemployment rates, not ever reaching the level of main street media attention, and coverage, where all Americans can weigh-in, including Black American voters, whom the Biden-Harris administration need, to win the White House. However, the main street media is also part of the problem, as this article by CNN promotes disinformation about our unemployment rates. Click on the article at the link from CNN by Daniel Dale, which comes across as objective, but “clearly supports and advances the administration’s use of the U-3 category rate as being comprehensive of our Job situation.” https://www.cnn.com/2024/06/16/politics/fact-check-trump-biden-black-unemployment-poverty/index.html
Gay, in her role of “fighting for black communities,” and indeed all-American workers, has the ability and resources to change all this, and end this oppressive policy. She, through the organization of BLMGNF, can courageously run full-page ads, explaining and exposing this dishonest scheme, in the major newspapers of the battle ground states of Wisconsin, Nevada, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Georgia, and Florida. Such ad pages will essentially state generically, without mentioning political parties, what is obvious to all of us, as indicated by Biden’s own economic team; our unemployment rates are rigged, and of questionable integrity, as far as being comprehensive of our nation’s unemployment situation. This makes the ads non-political. As a result of such an ad campaign, conversations around what is the real economy and Real Unemployment Rate will be generated leading to better economic policies, even at this upcoming debate.

The only solution is for Black America to separate, segregate, and walk away from Racist America. America was built on racism and it continues today to follow the same tradition of racism against black people but black people are still living in a fantasy world thinking that white people care about you and about the financial freedom of African American community.
The Biden administration is letting millions of illegal Hispanics, Asians, middle eastern etc.. across the border and they are giving these people all the low skill level jobs and state benefits that belongs to African Americans; more so, they are placing all these illegal non speaking English racist bastards into black communities in order to destroyed and gentrify our black neighborhoods into other races communities. Remember, with an increase in illegal immigration there is an increase in black incarcerations.
it is time for black people to wake up and realize that we are at war with every race in this country that threatens our livelihood and future of our children because they are taking all our jobs and al the benefits that belong to our people. These hispanics when they take over a neighborhood or business they will get rid of you by not giving you any jobs or renting any apartment units to black people.
Have you heard what happen in California, where a racist Hispanic college student killed a 23 year old African American man who was homeless and mentally ill for alleged breaking into a car that did not happen. The black man did not have any weapons or drugs; yet, the district attorney decided not to charge the Hispanic college student at USC who stabbed the black brother over a dozen times under the so called pretext of self defense; but it was the Hispanic who attacked the black men first.
Black America is time for our community to armed ourselves against racist hispanics, whites, Asians etc.. by legally purchasing guns, rifles, shotguns, ammunitions, Kevlar helmets, bullet proof vest etc.. to protect our black children and to be ready to fight these bastards to the death or die trying. We must seek revenge for the death of our mentally ill brother who was wrongfully stabbed to death by a racist Hispanic man with a small penis just like a racist white man.
Thank you for your comments. It is always good to hear from those who take the time to comment. However, the problem of Mr. Biden and Democrats undercounting our unemployment rates does not call for the extreme measures you suggest.
Sure, Black Americans are in a fix, VOTE for a President who is not working in our best interest as Democrats undercount the unemployment rates of American workers, including that of Black Americans with the highest unemployment rate, hiding our layoffs, depriving us of federal resources and federal government solutions, or an authoritarian like Donald Trump, who may be just as unresponsive. You have got to remember, once Democrats initiated the scam, Republicans did not roll it back, they took advantage of the low bogus unemployment rate numbers to advance their own political agenda. Remember, the George Bush and Donald Trump tax cuts.
So, what is the answer? A scheme of this nature works so long as it is hidden from the greater population of American voters. Unemployment Rates as a political topic aren’t topics Americans wake-up in the morning discussing, unlike severe weather events, economic immigrants, and China. And While ThyBlackman.com is a great site, the size of its audience of followers when it comes to streaming, does not begin to compare with that of MSNBC with 881,000 followers, Fox News with 1,638,858 followers or CNN with 1,126,584 followers.
The subject matter itself, explaining how Biden and Democrats are undercounting our unemployment rates, to include the history, would require repeated exposures to audiences, before voters would really get it and demand action. That is another hurdle. None of these main streaming and main street news outlets are willing or are interested right now in advancing this as a news item.
However, we have BLMGNF. This organization can accomplish for working class Americans, including Black American workers and their families all of the above, constant exposure with an explanation of the scam for a minimal cost if they would make the investment. Recently, putting on my Consultant Hat, and as a Consultant on this subject, which I know perhaps better than anyone, sent Cicley Gay and BLMGNF the ad page I speak of in this piece. They can run this full-page ad every day, if they desire, for the next few days in those battleground states’ regional newspapers. It would be impossible for Democrats and Democratic candidates to ignore. Thus, BLMGNF would have accomplished for voters, a real heart to heart discussion about our unemployment rates and what is the real economy, leading to an economic plan to address to most thorny issue of our time, long-term Job creation, which will be good for every working American in this nation, including the economic immigrants.

This is an Official Unemployment Rate Number Notification Alert!
Our unemployment rates are being undercounted (please become informed – read).
The Nation’s monthly Job Situation Report Number, the U-3 category rate, commonly known as our Official Unemployment Rate, while offering the appearance of being comprehensive is not comprehensive of the Nation’s Job Situation and has not been accurate in that regard for some time.
This conclusion is based on the redesign of the range of alternative unemployment measures done in 1994. The principal aim of the redesign was to obtain more accurate and reliable information on labor force activities of the United States population.
An article in the prestigious magazine named, the Monthly Labor Review, published first in 1915, lays out the basic concepts and definitions used in the adjustment of the measurement of employment and unemployment done, in 1994. The monthly publication describes itself as the principal journal of fact, analysis, and research from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). In the article, titled, “BLS Introduces New Range of Alternative Unemployment Measures,” which appeared in its October 1995 edition, by John E. Bregger, a retired Assistant Commissioner for Current Employment Analysis and Steven E. Haugen, an economist, at the time, in the Division of Labor Force Statistics, Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), on page 24, they state unambiguously the following:
“The highest alternative indicator, U-6 (out of the six categories of the new range of alternative measures of unemployment), represents the number of unemployed persons, plus all “marginally attached” workers, plus all persons working part time for economic reasons, as a percent of a labor force augmented to include “marginally attached” workers. As a result, this (U-6) is the most comprehensive of the new range of alternative measures, effectively treating workers who are visibly underemployed and all persons who are “marginally attached” to the labor force equally with the unemployed. Hence, U-6 provides the largest conceptual break with the official measure of unemployment. It is expected to be useful to those who want a single measure to represent a general view of the degree to which existing and potential labor resources are not being utilized.”
With the U-6 category rate out of the six category rates identified as the most comprehensive rate, nevertheless the U-3 category rate somehow ended up becoming the nation’s official unemployment rate. Not only did the U-3 rate, for reasons not understood, become the official rate of the six categories, after the adjustment of our nation’s unemployment rates, the U-3 rate, again for reasons not understood, took on the appearance of being the most comprehensive rate without any justification, at all.
As a result, economic policies were developed and built erroneously around the assumption of the category rate of U-3 being the most comprehensive rate such as exhibited today. With U-3 flashing a rate of 4.0% for May – there is an assumption the nation is very close to being fully employed, when it is not. As understood and identified by economists the U-6 category rate at 7.4% is the Real and true rate of Joblessness. There were no official objections written or verbalized regarding the conclusions of the readjustment of the nation’s unemployment rates in 1994. To arbitrarily disregard its conclusion by alluding to U-3 as being representative or comprehensive of the nation’s unemployment situation, in anyway cannot be justified.
We call upon our nation’s leaders to stop misleading the electorate and level-up, honor the results of the 1994 adjustments to our unemployment measurements, where the U-6 category rate was identified as the Real and true unemployment rate. That rate for May has been identified as 7.4%. Grow the Real economy.

This non-political message was paid for by BLMGNF in its pursuit of democratic principles as outlined in our Declaration of Independence and the Nation’s Constitution.
Finally, Eugenio, we must all find “the will to fight non-violently,” let us not surrender, or get weary when it comes to telling the TRUTH about the undercounting of our unemployment rates. Demand the Biden-Harris administration STOP undercounting our unemployment rates.
