(ThyBlackMan.com) Some people say that getting fit is expensive. You’ll spend a monthly membership in the gym and splurge on expensive fitness classes. However, there are some ways you can do to get fit and healthy without breaking the bank.

TIp No. 1. Cut out on junk foods.

These are the reasons why you are building up fats on your belly: that triple-decker burger, that large plate of fries and a dozen of donuts you are munching on.  We might not be aware but eating junk food affects our body, especially our health. Sodium, which is present on salty foods, tends to retain water in the body and too much of it will leave you feeling bloated and puffy. Consuming oily foods will retain fats on your body while too much sugar intake can lead to insulin resistance. Junk foods will not only make you gain weight but will also make you more prone to diseases such as diabetes and heart attack.

Cutting out junk foods is a great step to be fit. Aside from not splurging on unhealthy foods, you will be able to learn how to prepare your food as well.

Tip No. 2. Make your own workout equipment.

If you’re too broke to join a gym membership, you can use the stuff at home to create your workout equipment. You can make our dumbbells by filling up empty bottles with sand, rocks or water. You can also make a budget-friendly with few accessories. You won’t be needing a gym instructor as well because there are a lot of exercise tutorials you can watch on Youtube.

Tip No. 3. Drink lots of water.

Sometimes we spend a lot of money on slimming supplements and teas to get fit. Yes, they may be great but still, nothing beats water. It’s 0% Calories, 0% Fat, zero cost with lots of benefits. Also during the workout, our body temperature increases and loses a lot of fluids. Drinking water after exercising regulates our body temperature and blood flow to help flush out toxins. It also helps repair muscles and keeping our joints healthy.

Before looking for food to eat on the fridge, drink a glass of water first. Mild dehydration often disguises as hunger. If you want your water to taste better, you can add a few slices of citrus fruits on it. Drinking lemon water in the morning helps in detoxifying our bodies while helping you lose weight.

Tip. No. 4. Clean your house.

Another best way to get fit while spending less is by cleaning your own house. It’s like hitting two birds with one stone: you have a clutter-free house and a fit body. Put on comfy clothes, turn the music on and start dusting off. Clean the windows, kitchen floors and bathroom. You can even add an extra challenge to it by doing squats while folding the laundry or performing lunges while vacuuming.

After cleaning the house and sweating the fat out, you can reward yourself with a relaxing warm bath and a cup of tea.
