(ThyBlackMan.com) Over the past decade of playing home console and mobile games, I’ve noticed a very disturbing trend amongst many of the home console and mobile games that I’ve played this decade and it’s called microtransactions where many of these gaming companies nowadays are forcing us gamers to pay more for content that should only be unlocked in the game by just playing the game and I find this absolutely ridiculous.

Here are several ways that microtransactions are actually hurting gamers and the gaming industry.

Armors, Weapons, Shields, and Items Now For Sale – I have personally played many RPG games this decade and I noticed that if you want to get stronger, they now force you to pay more money to actually get stronger when they have armors, weapons, shields, and even items for sale so that you won’t have to be defeated so quickly in later battles in the game. I absolutely hate this because this has created this unhealthy habit for gamers to spend more for the game than actually playing it through while these gaming companies today exploit this unhealthy habit for personal profit and it greatly disgusts me. I miss the days where you could do a 3+ hour grind in RPG games and have enough gold pieces you earned from battles to buy new armors, weapons, shields, and items to get more stronger back in the day than being forced to pay more for new armors, weapons, shields, and items nowadays.

Characters Now For Sale – Another thing that definitely angers me about microtransactions nowadays is that in many of the home console and mobile games, there are certain characters that are only accessible through the use of microtransactions in the form of spending extra money just to get them. A recent example of this is when I played the popular gacha mobile RPG game in Dragon Ball Legends and I noticed that Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta from that atrocious Battle Of Gods Arc rehash from The Dragon Ball Super anime. I was even upset at the fact that if I wanted to buy him, I had to fork over an extra $25 just to get him which I did only because Vegeta will always be my favorite Dragon Ball character. Had this been any other character in Dragon Ball Legends, I wouldn’t have forked over extra money just to buy them at all.

New Buildings, Decorations, and Expansions Now For Sale – Another main thing that I also hate about microtransactions nowadays is the fact that in many town building simulation games like The Sims, you’re forced to actually pay more to build new buildings, add new decorations, and expanding the land. That’s absolutely ridiculous because we oughta be able to have all the buildings, decorations, and expansions in the game that we can use to build our fictional town in the way that we want without being forced to pay extra just to do it.

The Conclusion – I absolutely hate microtransactions because they’re a major negative for not only the gaming industry, but especially to us as gamers who frequently play these types of games whether alone or with family and friends. Microtransactions definitely need to go.
