(ThyBlackMan.com) Google Pixel 3A and Pixel 3A XL are finally here and are available to buy. During the Google I/O 2019 keynote, Google unveiled its two new budget-friendly phones and without a doubt, these are the best camera phones you can buy under $500. The Pixel 3A and Pixel 3A XL are available in three color options and share the same spec sheet with some key differences in display size, connectivity options, and battery capacity. Here you will read about all the features, specs and price of these phones in detail.

Specifications and features

Both the Pixel 3A series phones run Android 9 Pie and will receive security and Android OS updates for the next three years. The phones are equipped with Qualcomm’s mid-range Snapdragon 670 chip coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. None of these phones support external memory card, so you’ll have to keep your device’s storage limited to its standard capacity.

Google Pixel 3A and Pixel 3A XL sport a 12.2MP rear camera with dual LED flash. The camera system on the front has an 8MP lens. Both the phones support HDR recording and 4K video recording at 30 frames-per-second. The camera software offers different features and shooting modes such as night sight, top shot, portrait mode, HDR+, motion autofocus, and super res zoom. Google offers free cloud storage to all Pixel phone users, but for the Google Pixel 3A and Pixel 3A XL, Google is offering unlimited cloud storage only for the high-quality videos and photos captured on these phones.

Interestingly, none of these phones seems to care about the latest display trend where a majority of smartphones are trying to achieve all-screen display. Bezels on both the phones are wide enough reminding us of the phones people were using before this new trend kicked off. The Google Pixel 3A has a 5.6-inch display and its big brother 3A XL has a 6-inch display. Both the phones sport OLED screen offering almost the same display resolution, but if you want to check the specific details, we have got you covered. The display resolution on the Pixel 3A is 1080 x 2220 pixels with 441 ppi density and the Pixel 3A XL offers 1080 x 2160 pixels with 402 ppi density. Remember that the more is always better in terms of display resolution and pixels-per-inch density.

The Google Pixel 3A has a 3000mAh battery and the Pixel 3A XL comes with a bigger 3700mAh battery. Both the phones support fast charging but sadly, they lack wireless charging. These phones also support Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, fast charging and sport a 3.5mm audio jack at the top.

Price

The Google Pixel 3A, the smaller one, is available for $399 and the Pixel 3XL is available for $479. These phones are available in three colors in the United States, but if you’re in some other country, check the availability of color options as in some countries, these phones are available only in two colors. As Google has just launched these phones, you may find some discounts and deals from network carriers and online stores.

The Google Pixel 3A and Pixel 3A XL are the cheaper versions of the Pixel 3 series smartphones. So, you should not expect fancy build quality. The phones come in a polycarbonate body, so they lack a proper IP rating. Both phones look identical to each other. They come in the same design featuring the same storage, RAM, processor, and camera system. The good thing about having the Pixel 3A XL is that you get a bigger screen and more battery power for your phone. But you should also pay attention to their dimensions as they are not bezel-less phones. The height of the Pixel 3A is 6 inches and the Pixel 3A XL is a 6.3 -inch-long phone.

Overall, both the smartphones are really great considering the price bracket. If we look at the other smartphones in the same range, the Google Pixel 3A and Pixel 3A XL are the best mid-range smartphones.
