Plus, the good thing about investing in yourself is that you are still going to experience the benefits of this and enhance your CV regardless of whether you get the promotion or not.
- Make sure you get noticed – Last but not least, make an effort to get noticed. Of course, you should do this in a professional and helpful manner. It is all about putting your ideas forward and showing the value you add to the company. It is not about speaking just for the sake of speaking. Do tasks that are not expected of you and go above and beyond. If you do this, you will make sure you are considered when the decision about filling the vacancy is made. Remember, doing your job is what is expected of you – so you need to go an extra mile and do things that aren’t typically expected and written in your job description.
