(ThyBlackMan.com) After weeks of rumors, the Huawei P20, P20 Pro, and P20 Lite will be unveiled on March 27. It looks like Huawei will continue the infinity display trend with the P20 smartphone. Its display looks inspired (not copied) from the iPhone X. Apart from the beautiful display, the Huawei P20 has one surprising feature no other phone has (except the Nokia 808 and Lumia 1020). The smartphone is said to have a 40MP primary camera. There is a possibility of change in specs because the 40MP camera is also expected for its big brother P20 Pro. On its official Twitter account, Huawei has posted a funny video featuring a female model taking pictures with the Huawei smartphone while a photographer is struggling to capture images with a DSLR.
The branding of the new phone suggests the Huawei P20 or P20 Pro will feature a triple-camera setup on its back. Huawei has kept all the details secret but thanks to various tech enthusiasts who have uncovered the details of the Huawei P20 specifications, design, and features. Now fans are just waiting for Huawei to officially confirm the details. If you still don’t know what’s coming from Huawei’s magic bag, here’s everything you need to know about the Huawei P20 flagships.
Huawei P20 Specifications, Features, and Performance
The P20 Series will heavily focus on the camera and Huawei’s marketing material already indicates the same. The biggest selling point would be the phone’s 40MP sensor but other than the cameras, the P20 is expected to come equipped with top class hardware. Huawei P20 and P20 Pro will run on Kirin 970 chipset the same chipset found on the Huawei Mate 10 Series.
Other hardware details we expect on sheets include a microSD card slot, 6 to 8GB of RAM, 128 GB of internal storage capacity with the capability to max out the storage up to 256GB. We expect the device will run on Android Oreo and Huawei’s EMUI interface will give more power to users. Huawei will likely keep the headphone jack in place and the phone is also expected to have water resistance capabilities.
The P20 is expected to get a 3320mAh battery and according to reports, the Pro model will be powered by a 4000mAh battery. The display size on the P20 is rumored to be 5.7-inch and the Pro model will likely get a bigger 6-inch display. The device will be powered by Kirin 970 processor, Huawei will likely introduce facial recognition feature the company has been working on.
Last year, during the Honor Series smartphone release, Huawei said it is working on its own facial recognition system which is more secure than the Apple Face ID. Huawei has been experimenting with AI technology for a long time and the P20 Series is likely the one to get AI features, thanks to the NPU that works on Huawei’s latest smartphones.
The biggest selling point will be the 40MP camera. No other company, except Nokia, has given this much shooting capability to a smartphone. And if we look at the current industry trends, Nokia 808 (Symbian) and Lumia (Windows 8) stand nowhere close to this offering. The P20 smartphone camera is expected to support 5x hybrid zoom and the device may also get a 24MP selfie camera on with laser autofocus. The marketing material shows “see mooore with AI.” The word “mooore” has also sparked discussions among fans as the misspelled work likely represents the rumored triple-lens camera setup.
Another big change we expect from Huawei is speaker placement. If the leaked images are something to go by, the upcoming Huawei P20 smartphone will have dual speakers at the bottom. But due to insufficient official words about the same, there is a possibility of design symmetry being the reason that led Huawei to add two grills at the bottom of the smartphone.
If Huawei P20 turns out to be what some reports are claiming it to be, we will see three Huawei smartphones P20, P20 Lite and P20 Pro in the coming days. According to a fan on Twitter, the Huawei P20 series phones will be available in China from April 15. We expect the devices will be launched in the U.S. sometime around May or June.
