(ThyBlackMan.com) Apple Watch 4 or Apple Watch Series 4 whatever you call it, everyone’s expecting some major announcements from Apple. The watchOS 5 and the new Watch Series 4 are on the radar of fans who are hungry for a new smartwatch from Apple.

Back in September 2017, Apple unveiled Watch Series 3 and while the new watch doesn’t look very much different from the second-gen Apple Watch, the Series 3 brought whole new features. The dream of operating Apple Watch independently of iPhone came true with cellular connectivity with the Watch Series 3.

There are rumors that Apple Watch Series 4 will have a circular display. A patent diagram shows the possibility of a circular dial and another patent diagram highlights a possible design for a smartwatch with curved edges. Apple has always maintained its smartwatch design in a rectangular shape with curved edges, but this time the company will likely break this pattern.

Some analysts have also predicted the possibility of a round-shaped Apple Watch in 2018. For sharp display and trendy looks, if Apple makes some significant changes in the form factor, it will lead to more sales, analysts predict. Fans who are convinced with the new form-factor theory believe that Apple will introduce two variants – one with a rectangular display same as the previous Apple Watch models, and one with a circular display.

One of the most reliable sources for Apple product leaks, KGI analyst says the new models of the Apple Watch Series 4 will arrive sometime in autumn. The most interesting part of the series of leaks is the “15 percent bigger display” predicted for the new Apple Watch models.

A bigger display means we should look forward to something bigger than the standard 38mm and 42mm sizes because Apple’s smartwatches come in these two sizes. But there’s still a way Apple can keep the overall size of the watch the same by trimming bezel. The Apple Watch Series 4 is expected to accommodate a bigger battery. Those who are familiar with Apple’s future plans said that fans should expect bigger battery in the new Apple Watch. If it happens, the theory of infinity display on the Apple Watch 4 won’t hold up.

In addition, there are rumors that Apple is apparently adding more health sensors to its Watch Series 4 and the impact of the same will be seen in the watchOS 5. It is almost certain that the Apple Watch 4 will be accompanied by the watchOS 5, a new version of the Apple Watch operating system, but the inclusion of new health sensors make the overall prediction a bit vague.

In the Apple Watch Series 3, we have seen improvements and new features related to the heart-rate sensor. With watchOS 4, the smartwatch does more than just tracking your heart rate. In the last couple of months, many reports have claimed that Apple Watch can do a lot more than just basic activity tracking. Diabetes tracking is one of those advanced tasks Apple Watch can do, claims a research.

Instead of a design overhaul, Apple has focused on internal improvements with each new generation, including increased power. The company also offers versions that can connect to wireless networks on their own and don’t require an iPhone to make calls and send and receive messages.

Analysts expect that Apple will sell around 24 million Apple Watch units in 2018. It is a whopping 30 percent increase over the last year. KGI also predicts that the market for Apple Watch will likely hit 50 million units per year.

For its part, Apple is silent and simply warned employees and associates to stop leaking information. Considering Apple typically refuses to comment on leaked details, it likely won’t say anything before the company reaches a position to announce something.

Apple is busy in testing new updates for its current iteration of the watchOS and the company has left a warning that all the WatchKit apps must be updated in order to improve reliability on the future versions of the operating system. This is possibly a hint to developers that Apple will be dropping support for such apps when the company rolls out watchOS 5.

Since the launch of its first watch in 2015, the Apple Watch didn’t see any significant redesign. This year when everyone is waiting for the Apple Watch Series 4, Apple will likely focus on design changes to stand out.
