(ThyBlackMan.com) Nowadays, it’s no secret that the entire electoral and political system in America has been greatly tainted and corroded by the corruptive and destructive influence of big money. Urban people like myself have personally seen how big money has not only corrupted the entire political system in this country, but also many churches and pastors in our community.
And the urban communities across the country are negatively affected the most by big money corruption and I have personally seen myself of how big money has destroyed so many political careers from Kwame Kirkpatrick to Oliver Robinson.
Here are several reasons why big money is an enemy of the urban community in America.
1. Many Urban Churches And Pastors Have Sold Out For The Interest Of Big Money Corrupt Politicians – I remember in my rare appearances at church growing up, many urban churches used to truly care and fight for the interests of our community.
But nowadays, many of these urban churches and pastors have sold out the interest of our community for the interests of these corrupt big money politicians like what we saw at the last presidential election where Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump were deliberately pandering to our community for votes by basically tap dancing for our vote. That’s the reason why many urban churches and pastors work in the back pockets of these corrupt big money politicians.
2. It Has Caused Many Urban Politicians To Sell Out – One of my favorite Bone Thugz-N-Harmony songs from back in the day when I was growing up was “For The Love Of $” and when I think about that song, I often think about the many notorious cases of how urban politicians like Kwame Kilpatrick, Ray Nagin, William Jefferson, and Oliver Robinson sold out for the love of money and how it negatively affected our community as well as destroying their political careers in the process.
Example – The most egregious and horrendous part to this public corruption scandal to me personally is when Oliver Robinson sold out his entire community in Birmingham all for the sake of the parasitic capitalist dollar by telling his own community in North Birmingham to not let a group of environmentalists test the soil in their area for arsenic and lead poisoning, two highly dangerous chemicals that has greatly affected many urban people and many urban communities across the country in cities like Flint, Michigan and St. Petersburg, Florida.
3. It Has Rigged The Entire Electoral Process – One of the other reasons why big money is an enemy of the urban community across the country is because the entire electoral system is rigged in favor of corrupt big money politicians who only care about lining their own pockets.
The most recent example of this is in St. Petersburg, Florida in the District 6 Primary election and when I saw the election results from the primary, I knew then that big money had deliberately rigged the election in favor of the big real estate developers and parasitic gentrifying schemers vying to win the District 6 seat in the general election. Another reason why that primary was rigged is because the gerrymandering and gentrification of District 6 has gotten so severe that the ruling class has brought it to the point of no return.
It’s also worth noting that District 6 used to be a predominant urban district until another gentrification tactic in the form of gerrymandering actually limited the representation of urban people to vote for their leaders by taking out the non-gentrified parts of the district and putting in the gentrified parts of the district to also make sure that the ruling class wins District 6 every four years there.
The Conclusion – We must push back against this corrosive and destructive influence of big money by having our own political power and political party that specifically caters to the interests of our community.
