(ThyBlackMan.com) At WWDC 2017, the Cupertino based company unveiled Apple HomePod, a smart speaker by Apple. The home speaker is expected to compete with Google Home and Amazon Echo, as it brings the company’s voice assistant Siri. And the device brings all the features to make your living experience easier and effortless.
The new Apple HomePod is powered by the company’s A8 chipset and features six microphones inside. The HomePod is equipped with seven unique tweeters that deliver 360 degree audio. The seven tweeters send the beams throughout the room and give you a great listening experience regardless of where you use the smart speaker.
Apple is known for its innovative ideas, and when it comes to HomePod, the smart speaker stands out in many ways. Its sensors are capable enough to judge the room’s dimensions where the music is being played. If you are using more than one HomePod, the devices will be able to sense each other’s presence in the room. As a result, their sound will be synchronized in a way that it will make the music more appealing.
If you are planning to buy more than one HomePod for your home, or if you have AirPlay 2 compatible speakers then you can play music everywhere in the house. HomePods can communicate with each other, and controlling AirPlay 2enabled speakers is also possible with them. Additionally, the smart speaker by Apple is also capable of controlling devices that support HomeKit.
The speaker automatically adjusts the sound by judging the surroundings and is also capable of responding to all the information sent to it. The Apple HomePod mixes both ambient and direct audio in a way that microphones can easily distinguish between the voice commands and music you play. The device features advanced echo cancellation ensuring matchless sound whenever and wherever you need.
Now when Siri is available in HomePod, you can easily play, pause and change music with the help of voice commands. It is really amazing that even when your smart speaker is playing music at full volume, Siri will be able to recognize your voice requests and follow them efficiently.
Apple also confirmed that the company has brought additional security features for user data protection with the Apple’s HomePod. Anonymous ID and encryption will keep users’ privacy protected. HomePod is 7×4 inch smart speaker with an upward-facing woofer. According to the company, HomePod is enough to deliver the best, loud, distortion-free music in any room.
The company is planning to bring HomePod in December this year. The device will come in two colors, white and space gray at the time of launch. The device looks beautiful and the overall design and the brand name make HomePod a great choice. There are chances that the company would want to introduce the device in more colours, however, the company has not made any statement regarding the future updates on the product.
Both Google Home and Amazon Echo are available for less than US$200, but Apple has announced the smart speaker HomePod with a price tag of US$349. However, the product is still under production and we are not going to get the product anytime soon, the details about the performance and user experience are still under wrap. But there’s no doubt that by introducing Apple HomePod, Apple has made the potential buyers wait before they decide on buying a smart speaker.
The price tag can turn out to be a deal breaker, but just like many other tech giants, Apple is also known for the surprises it brings. During WWDC 2017 keynote, the company didn’t share anything very specific about the Apple HomePod’s future, but the way Google Home and Amazon Echo have grown, it is very clear that Apple holds secret plans for the future of its smart home speaker.

Am I the only one wanting Siri-driven internet radio. Hey Siri, I want to listen to BBC Radio 3. Surely, it has to offer this? Somehow?
Also, think about the English speakers unable to buy this because of limited country distribution.
Wife clicks her shutter button on her iPhone and does NOT touch a single additional button. Then walks into our family room and asks for a photo to appear and auto-magically the TV turns itself on, the input sets, and the photo with very fine detail appears. But here is the kicker. It appears in 4k!!
Does my wife have the new HomePod? No she simply purchased a Google Home and a 4K Chromecast. She also installed Google Photos on her iPhone. The work to tie everything together was simply logging into her Google account and that is it. Google made it all just happen.
Honestly, Apple just feels like they have lost their way. One button press is the lowest friction you can get! But it is Google doing it with Apple hardware and NOT Apple.
Then consider the ONLY way to see your iPhone photos in 4k on the largest screen in the house is from Google.
BTW, I am talking like crazy fine details you can ask and get with this setup. So say show me Johnny building a sandcastle. Or pretty much anything you can think of. Sally tea party. Sunset. Photos from last month. I mean basically any place, time, person, object, and even color objects, etc.
Glad to see “Apple” come out with something new. I do wonder if the masses will jump on this. Then again this could be only to please the Apple Fanboys.
