Sony Xperia XZ Premium Specifications, Features & Price

Sony is known for its cameras and when it comes to the company’s smartphone range, Sony is undoubtedly one of the top brands delivering exceptional camera quality in their mobile phones. The new Sony Xperia XZ Premium features Motion Eye camera. What makes it more special is the ability to record videos at super slow motion, at 960 frames per second for playback. Sony claims that it is four times slower than any other smartphone.

The 19MP rear camera features f/2.0, 25mm, laser autofocus and predictive phase detection. The phone also sports LED flashlight. For selfie lovers, there’s a 13MP front camera with a 22mm wide angle lens and 1/3.06” low light sensor. The phone also comes equipped with many sensors including accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, and proximity sensor.

The new Sony Xperia XZ Premium is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. So you can expect stunning performance and better battery life from the smartphone. Sony suggests that the phone’s 3230 mAh battery won’t leave you for a day after a full charge.

The Xperia XZ Premium also comes with a Smart Stamina feature, which is a kind of battery saver mode. It analyzes your phone’s battery consumption pattern and warns you long before the battery goes out. Once activated, the Smart Stamina system helps reduce the energy consumption and adds more life to the battery. The smartphone also supports Quick Charge 3.0 so you won’t have to wait for long, and a full charge can be expected quickly.

The Xperia XZ Premium has IP65/68 certification, meaning that you can carry it and use it in the rain. The phone is splash and dust resistant. The smartphone is 195g in weight, and its dimensions are 156 x 77 x 7.9 mm that give it a very slim look. The placement of buttons on its sides is also very appealing and comfortable in use.

The screen-to-body ratio is approximately 68.4% which is good, not the best. But when it comes to the overall design of the phone, Sony has not compromised with the quality, which makes Xperia XZ Premium stand out as a perfect business phone due to its classy looks, and the phone is also highly suitable for entertainment lovers. The smartphone runs on Android 7.1 (Nougat) which is the latest version of Google’s Android operating system available for smartphones.

The Sony Xperia XZ Premium features 4K HDR display, meaning that the content you can play from several online streaming services such as Amazon Prime Video can be watched in full 4K display quality. Additionally, the XZ Premium lets gaming enthusiasts do more with their smartphone. PS4 games are playable on the Xperia XZ Premium by connecting through Wi-Fi network. The phone supports PS4 Remote Play and allows you to take control of your PS4 gaming from anywhere in the house.

Meanwhile, Sony is also bringing its Xperia Touch projector in the market in June at a price tag of US$1699.99. What makes this deal special is the projector’s ability to turn any surface into a touchscreen.
