(ThyBlackMan.com) The current administration is in a whirlwind of confusion and chaos. Only those that choose to be blind would deny such. However, some would argue there is much to learn from Trump, and the foolishness he has rained on the White House. The man has no word, character, nor integrity. He has committed acts that qualify him for impeachment, and has a staff that is in disarray.
Though I feel no pity for them; one can only imagine the hectic environment this current staff must endure. The name of the game is lie against all odds. It doesn’t matter how ridiculous they sound…they must lie and lie with conviction. It’s bad enough that politicians
don’t have the best reputation, but after this administration some children might second guess if they want to be president, and rightfully so. Donald Trump has no regard for the American people…this includes his supporters. Clearly this president is mentally unstable and very narcissistic, yet he exudes fear. That is a recipe for destruction.
How did all of this happen you ask? Because Donald Trump is the embodiment of white privilege, and we must pay attention. It is important that we frame his presidency properly, and do so for our children. If Barack Obama would have looked like he was going to do a smidgen of the things Donald Trump has done he would have been hung high for, not only America but, the world to see why black people must not sit in a position of leadership. We all know this to be the unfortunate truth. Obama is living his life right now doing nothing more than any other former president has done, and Congress wanted to threaten the man’s pension…which I might add he definitely earned. The hypocrisy is in our face, and its blatant. No one is trying to hide how one sided this administration is.
There is a devastating side effect to the white privilege of Trump…he has not seemed to learn the art of damage control. You see he believes he is untouchable so why entertain damage control. Black folks pay very close attention because this lack of damage control will very well hang him high. Donald Trump should have picked up a book and learned about the former presidents. He should have studied Richard Nixon’s administration in entirety…verses just using his “law and order” sound bites on a campaign trail. If he would have read his history then he’d know privilege unchecked will get you caught up, and will lead to ones undoing. Too bad he isn’t learning the lesson…he’s sitting in a pressure cooker of his own privileged making.
Black people, and others, are standing up to say we will not back down from this administration. We will not “go quietly into the night”. This is a good thing, but we should be mindful of the illusion of “privilege”. Don’t forget who you are. Don’t get so caught up in ego, pride and an illusion of privilege so much so that you can’t damage control your mistakes and get back on track. Keep this administration before the eyes of your children as a shining example of what leadership ought not do. If more of us decide to get involved in politics and run for office…know that you will never get away with what Trump has…and you shouldn’t want to. Pride comes before the fall they say, but when you fall from privilege the damage is so devastating that more than likely there will be no recovery.
