(ThyBlackMan.com) Until President Donald Trump is willing to be disliked by the left and their media cohorts, ultimately, he won’t be loved by anyone.
The appointment of former FBI Director Robert Mueller by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein was the best thing that could’ve happened to the Trump administration at this juncture of his presidency, because it’s given him a “do-over” to focus on the agenda for which he was elected.
Mr. President, please hear us. It’s time for you to holster the Twitter finger and turn off the television long enough to allow those that elected you to have more policy wins.
In order to do this there are three problems Trump must address immediately to put his presidency back on track:
First, he’s just as insecure and thin-skinned as former President Obama, perhaps even more so, and it’s becoming problematic for those that put him in the White House. He wants to be liked by both major political parties. When he genuinely does great things for the country, he expects accolades, but that won’t happen. Secondly, it’s time for campaigning Trump and his perpetual war on the media to go bye-bye, resurfacing only when necessary to correct the record, and then pivot back to policy discussion. Thirdly, President Trump must realize the left will never love him! He must stop seeking the adoration from the media that his base is dying to give him.
At times, I love that President Trump is quick to correct the corrupt media whenever possible. However, it’s naïve for a 70-year-old man to assume that if you constantly battle against them, they won’t throw grenades back at you. They’re only too happy and eager to go after Trump – if someone hits them, they hit back twice as hard. Sound familiar? He’s losing the narrative that could easily be regained by focusing on legislation such as appealing Obamacare completely.
President Donald Trump wrongly assumed that the left-wing media would treat his presidency differently because he’s a non-ideological problem-solver. Therefore, when the left-wing media attack him so viciously and often, he can’t emotionally handle it. Though Trump was very effective relating to the “little guy” during his campaign, let’s face it: He’s not one – nor has he ever been for his entire adult life. Why does this matter? A businessman grows accustom to receiving praise from business contracts, because usually it’s a win-win scenario for everyone involved. That isn’t the case in Washington. Often, one party must lose, usually always Democrats, for the nation to succeed.
At least for now, Donald Trump has caved on a full repeal of Obamacare, DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals), the omnibus spending bill that continues to fund Planned Parenthood through September, and moving the U.S. Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem. It’s important for President Donald Trump to remember which side of the aisle elected him, while continuing to advance and explain why his policies benefit the country along the way. Embroiling himself in back-and-forth Twitter wars with the media has only served as distractions from accomplishing the real legislative work needed in Washington to turn this country around.
No matter what the president accomplishes, the left will never love him because their jobs are at stake. The sooner he realizes that the better. Therefore, Mr. President, help us help you by holstering the Twitter finger and focusing on the agenda for which you were elected.
