(ThyBlackMan.com) Illegal Immigration has been a major issue in the United States for generations, as of 2011 there were eleven million undocumented immigrants in the United States. When most of this individuals come over they come in hopes of obtaining the “American Dream”. Not every country is as open as the United States where everyone is free to practice their religious beliefs and etc. Economic reasons are the most prevalent in the motivation to illegally immigrate to the United States. The Bracero Program has also brought more immigrants to the US. The program consists of an agreement between the US and Mexico from 1942-1964 it allowed trained immigrants come and work harvesting fruits and vegetables in the US.

The program ended up benefiting World War II, due to the fact they did not have to hire citizens or soldiers to do the tasks. These people run to the United States to run away from the harsh realities of the location they have fled. Understanding that it is a violation by law to enter the country undocumented millions come each and every year. Majority of the immigrants in the United States are from Mexico, they count for about fifty two percent of immigrant population.

Those who arrived before the year of 2012 tend to be much more educated than those that have been here over a decade. As a whole illegal immigrants as a group tend to be less educated, most do not finish school but work to obtain money instead. The US is viewed worldwide as an extremely desirable location to be, there are various incentives for immigrating.

One incentive being employment, in many other countries that are not as developed as the US there are not many job opportunities. Second being freedom, in many countries what we consider a luxury in the US is not permitted there, such as education, healthcare, and overall giving themselves a better life. We as born citizens have been arguing for years to improve the immigration issue. When illegal immigrants come into the country they obtain jobs, start businesses, and invade our economy. Most who hire these workers do so knowing that they can pay the immigrants a cheaper price for their labor than they would to a natural born citizen.

I believe we are all entitled to living out our life long desires but we should go about it the right way. There are millions of citizens in the US who are unemployed, many of them do not have jobs because they are given to immigrants who are in many cases paid less. The United States has to first put something in place to compromise with potential illegal immigrants, it should not take be such an impossible task.
