(ThyBlackMan.com) I admit I miss Michael Jackson. I can’t lie his music, creativity and the humanity he possessed are the things I miss the most. People can say what they want…I don’t believe he was wacko, and the world seemed to be a better place when he was in it. Though songs like “Human Nature” and “Stanger in Moscow” will speak to me for the rest of my days it was not just the music of Michael Jackson that taught us. Honestly, there were some concepts that were reinforced about being black through the life of Michael Jackson. I’m sure many of us want to be a star, want to stand out and do something original…well the life of Michael Jackson taught us there is a price for greatness. There is a price for genius.
For all the goodness Michael Jackson put into to world they never let him forget he was black. Hell at times I must say I wondered when Michael Jackson was going to be betrayed or tore down. He never recovered from being accused of abusing children. The legal justice system humiliated that man and stripped him of his dignity.
It didn’t matter how much money he made nor how many hits. At the end of the day he was just another…you know here I’m going. Some of these rap artists out here stupid enough to think they above the law, but they forgot Michael Jackson. Real talk honestly…many of his own kind turned on him. Michael Jackson was a jewel to black people until the skin issues, and those charges came…then some of them screamed Wako Jacko too…SHAME ON THEM.
Yea, some people might get mad with me but I keep it real. I was behind Michael Jackson to the end and I paid attention to songs like “Man in the Mirror”, “Leave Me Alone”, “They Don’t Really Care About Us”, “Earth Song” and one of my favorites…” Stranger in Moscow”. It was more than just a good time in the music. Michael Jackson was a genius and he paid for that. His genius nor the skin bleaching could eradicate the racism that comes with being black.
I miss Michael Jackson. I loved Michael Jackson, and I will always be a fan. I wonder what his music would tell us today given all that is going on in the world. Unfortunately, all I can do is wonder because like many before him the weight of his genius was too much to bare. Michael Jackson taught us there are some truths we can never get away from.

Learn the facts about Mj’s corrupt accusers and spread the word. The media is still trying to drag him through the mud and more greedy false accusers came up with bogus molestation claims.

This is about what they really found in Neverland, No he never had child porn and no he didn’t collect pictures of nude boys or pictures of torture, animals abuse. All of that was just Radar Online’s vile smear campaign based on a police report that itself was horribly biased and debunked during the trial itself. What MJ actually collected proves that he was a straight guy interested in adult sex, not boys.

Great article.
However….
Michael Jackson did NOT bleach his skin. He had vitiligo (& lupus). He said it during the Oprah interview, also, there’re photos that show him with vitiligo & the autopsy confirmed it too to the naysayers.
That smear campaign (the media & bigoted people perpetuated) you talked about included making people believe Michael ‘hated being blacked’ & that he went to’extremities to erase any black features’ & that includes the old, stale ‘he bleached his skin’. No he did not bleach. He was proud to be black & him having vitiligo does not take that away from him.
Well-said everyone! Michael’s beautiful melody, with his motivating lyrics and magic dance steps, has been very powerful inspiration for my life. I believe it has inspired many millions and millions of people like me, and will continue to touch the hearts of people in years to come, or perhaps for ever. As a person, Michael has exercised strong self-awareness, strict discipline, extreme positive attitude and fighting spirit throughout his life. By being the “Man in the Mirror” himself, Michael has proved to be a man of all good qualities and strength that a normal human being could possibly entail. To me, Michael is a hero and my role model. His contribution to music and the MORAL and CULTURAL dimensions of our society ranks among the best of our human consciousness – he is a genius, a fighter, a teacher and a master – a perfect human being!
MJ was indeed a genius and true humanitarian….he also suffered from Vitiligo as confirmed in his autopsy (online if you wish to verify). IMO, to truly understand his miseries, and his extraordinary courage, one must acknowledge this medical condition and the price he paid for ‘that skin thing.’
I truly appreciated your article except for one thing, a thing that to this day is STILL being used “the bleaching”. Way back in 1993 in the interview that was watched by over 90 Million people around the world (most ever watched) Michael Jackson declared to the world in front of Oprah that he suffered from a skin disease, namely Vitiligo. I for one never ever doubted Michael for I do not think that man was capable of lying, its just how he was, but yet he wasn’t believed and the smear campaign continued. Fast forward to 2009 and the Official Autopsy Report that was offered to the public on line. There is was, loud and clear VITILIGO patches all over his body. Michael used Benequin Cream (used by Vitiligo sufferers) that evens out the patches to match with the dominate white patches on his body. One of the reasons why he was always covered up from head to toe and used an umbrella to protect himself from the direct sunlight is part of the process people with Vitiligo have to go thru. And even though it has finally been confirmed by Coroners and Doctors alike during his Autopsy STILL people carry on with the “bleaching his skin” aspect as NOT wanting to be Black, which I can imagine you didn’t think that way, but many including his Black Peers did. Michael Jackson never ever disowned his Race, spoke loud and clear about “I am proud to be Black, I have dignity. The amount of work and money donated to Black Colleges, Celebs etc. is huge. So apart from that one comment in your article, I like what you said because its the TRUTH
