(ThyBlackMan.com) San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick recently refused to stand up during the national anthem in protest against social injustices towards African Americans. In his words he refused to “show pride in the flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color.” Because of his actions many have questioned his patriotism… insensitive and uncaring…as to WHY he did it; going so far as referring to him as the n-word thus simultaneously validating his position. However, Kaepernick’s heroic refusal to stand up goes much deeper than perhaps even he realizes. He may have opened up a Pandora’s Box exposing the hypocrisy of many who claim to be patriots.
When the US invaded Iraq our soldiers were placed in harm’s way, many were killed, maimed, suffered loss of limb(s) and for what? Supposedly we invaded Iraq because they were harboring WMD, but none were found. It’s rather alarming how Vice-President Cheney’s business associate Halliburton profited from the imperialistic invasion of Iraq—along with oil businessmen—disingenuously using American soldiers as their private Schutzstaffel. American soldiers were being used as pawns protecting the interest of the rich and powerful. Using our military men and women as sacrificial lambs for profit gain—capitalism then becomes anti-American and anti-patriotic—yet where was the outcry?
During WWII capitalists showed where their loyalty truly lied promoting patriotic propaganda that encouraged the working class to slaughter each other in the interests of competing national interests, international capital quietly kept the commodity circuits flowing and profits growing across all borders. Standard Oil was actually supplying the Nazis with petroleum, shipped enemy fuel through Switzerland for the Nazi occupation forces in France. They supplied a rare lead additive without which the German Luftwaffe could not fly.
Along with Standard Oil there were several other US corporations that had the equivalent of $8 billion invested in Nazi Germany, General Motors, IBM, Ford, the Chase and National City Banks, I.T.T. and many others. I.T.T. helped supply the rocket bombs that assailed much of London, and built the airplanes that dropped bombs on our soldiers. Ford and General Motors built the Nazi’s trucks and tanks in France with authorization from Dearborn, Michigan. Ball bearings crucial to the Nazi war effort were manufactured in Philadelphia, yet were in short supply in the USA.
Rail lines to Auschwitz were not bombed. Allied bombers hit within 5 miles of Auschwitz but the factories and death camp were off limits. Reason is that profits were being made by American businessmen from the slave labor being used in the concentration camps, and the poison gas being used to kill the laborers after their usefulness was expended.
Considering the treasonous and unpatriotic acts of American businessmen and some of our politicians, Kaepernick should be given a standing ovation and a round of applause for his stand against social injustice. Most Americans may very well be in the dark about these events but as the truth becomes known, and there isn’t an outcry then clearly we have a nation of cowards, lacking the courage of a Colin Kaepernick.
In 1962 under the code name Operations Northwood, the Joint Chiefs of Staff proposed staging phony attacks (false flag) to destroy U.S. property and killing Cuban refugees and U.S. citizens, in order to create a wave of indignation and rage, to justify an invasion of Cuba that could have killed hundreds of thousands of people and possibly led to nuclear war. If not for the Kennedy’s administration rejecting the idea this false flag proposal would have been carried out.
Insofar, as the 9/11 alleged terrorist attacks are concerned many people believe that the Bush administration took advantage of 9/11 in order to launch the Iraq invasion and impose repressive measures at home.
Then there are those who say that the Bush administration went even further by instigating 9/11, just as the Joint Chiefs of Staff proposed instigating fake attacks on Americans in 1962 to create a climate where military actions seems justified.
There are millions of people who suspect that Bush and other top leaders were involved in some way in making 9/11 happen, however, because of a campaign of repression via the perturbing Homeland Security and its assault on legal guarantees these people end up toning down their pursuit for answers. It may be decades before official details of the attack is finally released.
Our military men, women deeply love and honor their country willing to die for it, and for them to be dishonored by unscrupulous, anti-patriotic American politicians and businessmen is reprehensible. Perhaps the time has come to stop with the charades and stop playing the national anthem at any and all sporting events.
The anniversary of 9/11 fast approaches—on this day—several NFL games are scheduled. Americans can launch a silent protest against tyrannical injustices by remaining seated during the national anthem demonstrating support of our military men and women while simultaneously sending a message to the powers that be that the American public is mad as hell about how our military men and women have been used as collateral damage for profit. The alternative is to stand up and be cowards allowing tyranny to fester and reign.
